CHAPTER 38 : It's Hard To Move On

CHEN'S POV

"I have someone else"

You wouldn't believe how much those 4 words affected my life. It has been a week since it happened. A week since I saw her. A week since my heart broke.

I wasn't supposed to see here then... but I was dragged into going to the market.

"Why couldn't I just stay in the car?" I whined at them

"No, the guys said that you needed to get out of the dorm so we brought you along" Kyungsoo said tugging me on my sleeves. "and would you hurry, we need to move fast before any fangirls notice us"

"Yes cause 3 dudes with dark hoods, sunglasses and caps on is so not suspicious" I replied sarcastically "worst scenario is that they'll think we're thieves"

"Don't think like that" Lay hyung scolded

We we were scanning through the isles when I heard distant shouts. I looked away from the cans of food the two are deciding on and looked at the direction of the noise. I wonder is there's another idol here. Who might it be? I see people running to the same direction. Causing such an uproar...

"Jongdae what do you think?" Kyungsoo asked snapping me back to reality. I turned to them and their faces showed confusion. I then see the 2 cans they were holding up.

"Uh.. you should buy both.." I said "just to avoid any arguments"

They both shrugged at my idea and put both cans inside the cart.

"Guys, I'm just going to check something out" I said. The shouting didn't stop actually it was getting louder. "Just for a second"

"Don't let curiousness get the best of you" Kyungsoo said his tone serious as ever "We here the shouting too but chose to ignore it.."

"I'm just going to check it out" I argued

"You might get caught" His voice more stern and his glare was intense

"Don't worry, I won't" I said and started to walk away

"Jongdae!"

Ignoring them, I went close to the crowd. I was surprised to hear so many insults towards the person. I still couldn't recognize who though. I was now on my tip toes trying to get a better view. The person looked back and my eyes widen at the sight of her... Mei... She looks... horrible.. her face was sullen. It's been only 2 days but she looks so different from what I'm used to see.. I need to talk to her. Pushing out the people out, I tried my best to reach her.

"Mei..."

My hood and cap came off along the way but that didn't matter right now. We were outside now.. she ran along with, what I assume are her body guards, and I ran with my full might to catch her. I stretched my hand to grab hers. Just a little more... just.. a.. little.. more.. I caught her hand.

She flinched at the contact, probably scared.

"Mei... it's me" I said filling my voice with comfort.

She relaxed for a moment and slowly opened her eyes. She scanned my face for a second and I looked at her eyes. Her eyes showed so many emotions, I couldn't identify which.
I couldn't hold myself any longer, I pulled her close and tight.

"You don't know how much I missed you" I whispered to her. Her body was tenser than before and it seemed like she was shaking. When I thought she was already relaxing she pushed me away.
