Elena were in her dorms, thinking about the conversation she had with Ginny in the afternoon.
"So you have a boyfriend?"
"Umm y-yeah, Matt is my boyfriend but he's a muggle and we can't be together, he can't know about my magic"
"I understand, is such a sad story but i think you should tell him if you really love him"
"Yeah, maybe you're right but i don't want to talk about this right now"

"Elena, you don't come to dinner?" Hermione asked staring at the girl that was trying to read a book but failing because all she was thinking was Damon. She placed the book on her lap and said:

"No Herms, i don't feel hungry"

"You're sure?"

"Yeah, don't worry"

As soon as Hermione and Ginny walked out the door, Elena ran into the bathroom to take a bath. She undressed, and jumped into the hot water. It was really cold outside, so it felt like heaven. She started to think at the Christmas ball and her dancing with Damon. He was really handsome in a tuxedo, like she was in a dress, she desperately wanted to partecipate, she even took the dress, a black and white dress. When she went out of the tank, she took a towel that hugged all her body and at vampire's speed she dried her hair and body, and put on white lingerie and a black dress and silver heels, she left her hair falling on her back and she went to the astronomy tower. At some point she heard a piano playing, she turned her head for see Stefan playing and Damon with a bunch of red roses in his hands going to her, a golden telescope was in front of her, she looked up and the place lit up with little yellow, blue and red lights placed everywhere, red ballons and heart shaped balloons, some flowers magically appeared, Elena smiled, she knew Bonnie was doing it and that Caroline placed the lights and the balloons because she like to decorate everything. Damon came next to her, placed a hand on her hip, and gave her the roses. She almost cried from the joy.

"You did all this?"

"Well, actually, i got some help, you know i'm not really a romantic person so i accepted advices but the roses, the music and the telescope were all my idea"

"This is...perfect! Literally! I love you Damon"

"I'm happy you said that" he said looking at a shooting star.

"Make a wish"

She closed her eyes, and whispered:

"Done"

When she opened them, Damon was on one knee, with an open little black box in his hand with a ring in it, she put her hands on her mouth.

"Elena Gilbert, i know i don't deserve you, but please, would you make me the happiest man in this world or every other world and marry me?"

Now tears of joy were falling down her eyes, she put her arms around his neck and yelled the loudest Yes the world ever heard.

"I love you Damon"

"I love you Elena"

At some point, Caroline, Stefan and Bonnie left but not before Damon thanked them all.

"I can't believe you accepted Bonnie and not even you Caroline"

"Well, we may fight sometimes but you guys, are always my best friends" Bonnie said smiling and hugging them.

"I did just because if you're happy then i'm happy" Caroline said with a tear of joy escaping her eye.

"And Stefan, thank you for everything"
