Allie;

I'm slowly pulled out of my sleep when I hear the sound of tapping on my window. I can't really place it; it's either someone throwing rocks or just tapping on the glass.

I lazy get out of bed and trudge to the window. Sure enough, Shawn is standing outside, smirking slyly. I roll my eyes tiredly as I push my window open, leaning my upper half out the window.

"Shawn," I sigh with a small giggle, and his eyes glimmer in the pale moonlight.

"Allie," he greets back, wiggling his eyebrows.

I giggle again, this time yawning. "What on earth are you doing here at midnight, Shawn?" I question.

"C'mon, it's adventure time," he says slyly, tugging at my hand. I groan. It is midnight, after all. I don't want to go out and about with him at this hour, I just want to go back to bed.

"I'm tired, why can't I just sleep," I whine, sticking out my lower lip. Shawn sighs, also sticking out his lower lip. "Allieeee," he whines, moving closer and pressing his lips to mine. I smile into the kiss before pulling away with a sigh. I can't believe I'm about to do this. I back away from the window and change into leggings and one of Shawn's oversized sweatshirts, tug on my converse and pull my hair into a messy ponytail before grabbing my phone and reappearing at the window.

Shawn grins cheekily as I climb out of the window and land on the muddy ground beneath, since the house is only one floor. I close my window before following Shawn to his car that's parked on the side of the road.

"Shawn, where are we going?" I ask with a laugh as he pulls me excitedly into the car. "It's a surprise," he smirks as he opens the passenger door for me. I grin as I climb in and shut the door and Shawn jogs around to the driver's seat. He sighs as he settles in, buckles his seatbelt, and starts the engine before driving off. I lean my head against the window, slowly starting to drift off again as we drive, but I'm awoken all too soon when I hear the hum of the engine stop as Shawn parks. I groan a little as I sit up and look where we are: Denny's.

"Shawn," I laugh as he gets out of the car with a huge grin on his face. I check my phone and see it's nearly 12:30am. "It's almost 12:30 in the morning, why are we going to Denny's?" Shawn shrugs casually. "Why not?" I raise my eyebrows as he grabs my hand and tugs me inside like a little kid, and an old lady gives us a table and menus.

"What're you gonna get?" I ask Shawn, and he smiles excitedly. "Blueberry pancakes, of course!" I roll my eyes as I skim the menu. I should've known, Shawn loves blueberry everything. Pancakes, bagels, and especially muffins. "Wanna share?" I ask cutely, and Shawn grins. "Of course," he says, so we order a stack of blueberry pancakes with whipped cream and a vanilla milkshake with two straws. It's incredibly cheesy, but I like it. I can definitely say I've never gone to Denny's at nearly one o'clock in the morning.

Once we were finished, we both parted ways to go the the bathroom, because we may or may not have gotten into a mini food fight. I currently have whipped cream all over my face, and Shawn for blueberry stains on his hoodie. We were also scolded by the nighttime manager for 'disrupting the peace' even though we were literally the only customers. It is 1:30am by now, after all.

Once we've cleaned ourselves up, I follow Shawn back to the truck with a yawn. "Now what?" I ask tiredly as I lead my head on his shoulder. He chuckles and buckles his seat belt. "I have another surprise in store," he says mischievously, and I groan. Again? How many tricks does this boy have up his sleeve?

I sigh and lean my head against the window, slowly falling asleep again. I try not to, thinking that where ever were going next is probably close by, but I end up doing so anyway after being the car for nearly an hour. Where the heck is he taking me?

•••

"Allie," Shawn whispers, nudging me slightly. I whimper, shivering a little as I wake up and open my eyes. It's still dark, but just a tad lighter than when we left Denny's. I look at the clock in the truck and notice it's about 6:30am. Wow, I didn't realize I slept for so long.

I look around and see we're parked in a field or something, and Shawn has wrapped a blanket around me. I sit up and yawn, rubbing my eyes as I continue to try to figure out where the heck we are. Did it seriously take Shawn five hours to drive out here? Or did he get here hours ago and let me sleep?

"Can you please tell my what your surprise is now?" I whine, pouting at him. Shawn smiles, gesturing for me to follow him out of the truck and into the grass. It's starting to get moist with morning dew, which makes my feet cold. I wrap the blanket tighter around myself and notice that Shawn has several other blankets and a picnic basket. Wait... I look up and see we're skinning a small hill. When we reach the top, we can see the horizon perfectly. Its gray, but beginning to change color. Oh my god. He brought me out here to watch the sunrise with him!

Shawn grins as he studied my face, which has probably indicated that I finally connected the dots and figured out his surprise. My mouth drops open slightly and I shake my head in amazement at this boy. He really is amazing.

"C'mere, let's cuddle while the sun comes up," he says cheekily, patting the spot next to him on the blanket he's just laid out for us. I bite my lip and school closer to him, cuddling into his chest. "I brought us some food," he offers, and my stomach rumbles at the mention. I take out a granola bar and munch tiredly on it as the sun begins to slowly peak, casting the sky pale pink and orange. Stringy clouds stretch across the sky, making the sunrise look even more magnificent. The colors go from pastel pink and orange to a deeper reddish orange, then get lighter as the sun begins to make a full appearance. A light bluish-pinkish-purple coats the sky and clouds, gradually changing into a whitish blue before changing into a normal sky blue once the sun is fully up and beginning to makes way over our heads. I notice the time now is about 8:30am, and I'm extremely tired.

"That sunrise was almost as beautiful as you," Shawn whispers, kissing my forehead. "Oh my gosh, you're so cheesy," I scoff. He laughs, pecking my nose. "You love it." I smirk as we collect our things and stuff it all in the back of his truck. "Of course I do." Shawn smiles as we get back into his truck and begin the drive back.

"You know, today is my last day home before I go back on tour," he says. quietly as we begin the drive home. I sigh and nod. I wish we had more time together. I'm kind of afraid to see how this long distance relationship thing will work out for us.

"I know."

"We'll just have to make today extra special," he declares.

"You've already made it special," I say, pecking his cheek. He blushes a bit, but keeps his eyes on the road as he grins like an idiot. "Thank you, Shawn."

"I wouldn't has wanted to spend this morning with anyone else," he replied sigh a smile, and I roll my eyes at how cheesy he's being today.

I fall asleep again as the drive continues, but I don't mind. Because today, I don't want to be anywhere without Shawn. It's his last day with me, and I'm determined to make it count.

A/N - Wow Shawn's cheesier than an extra cheddar pretzel.
