Endless Night

Chapter 10

**I apologize for the wait. I had a rough week at work and thanks so much for all the reads, votes, and comments. It is greatly appreciated. Here's the next chapter. I don't own Twilight. If I did Bella and Jasper would have been together.**

Jasper's POV

She is way too quiet and I can't feel her. I don't like this. It has my Major in edge and ready to burst out of his cage. "Carlisle," I say. I hear him walk up to the door. "Yes Jasper," he asks. "Do you know why she would be this quiet," I ask. "Honestly no. The only thing I can think of is she's doing it on her own," he says. There is now way someone can remain quiet throughout the change. I feel a little bit of the pain and grunt at the sudden onslaught. I then feel reassurance coming from her. "Carlisle she is keeping quiet on her own and she also has her shield up," I say. "Honestly son that doesn't surprise me. You know how she is," he says and returns to training outside with the others.

I run my hands through her hair and hold her close to my body so that she knows I'm here. It's only been one day, but it's felt like forever. I just can't wait to see her beautiful eyes again. This is going to be the longest few days I've ever experienced.

Peters POV

"Again," I shout as I watch Emmett and Natalia spar. "Emmett you need to not rely on your brute strength as much. You need to use more agility. Newborns rely on their strength a lot like you do except they're stronger. By being more agile than they are, you'll decapitate them before they see it coming," says Char. He nods and Natalia charges him again much like a newborn would and surprisingly enough he does take the critique and has his teeth to Natalia's neck in seconds signaling defeat. "Very good. Edward you're up next," I say. He steps up to spar Carlisle. While his skills were sloppy, he makes up for it in speed. "Sloppy, but you have speed on your side. You just need to clean everything up a bit," he says and turns his back on Carlisle whom he had pinned. "Oh and one more thing," I say as Carlisle knocks his legs from him and pins him. "Never turn your back on your enemy," I say. Everybody laughs.

I look up at the house and my knower kicks in telling me that something was gonna happen. "You ok Hun," says Char. "I don't know. My knowers says somethings gonna happen," I say and just as I say it the Volturi come through the trees. "How come you guys didn't invite us to the party," asks Aro. "Well we figured you were busy stalking Maria and that your guard are well trained already. Though if you wanna join, your more than welcome to," I say. Everyone gathers around in a large half circle. Natalia steps forward. "Alright I'll spar someone and try to mimic the moves of a newborn. Teeth to the neck signals defeat and no powers. You need to know how to fight without them," she says. Jane steps forward. Natalia charges her like a newborn would. It takes Jane a little longer than it should have to have her teeth to Natalia's neck. "Good, but you need to use your small size to your advantage to decapitate a newborn. You rely heavily on your power and you may have that in battle but you may not," says Natalia. She nods.

This goes on for hours and it's funny watching some of the elite guard struggle a little. "Alright guys, I think that enough for today. Go hunt if needed and we will resume tomorrow," I say and most disappear to go hunt. Aro walks up to Carlisle. "How is young Bella doing? I sense she's changing as we speak," he says. "Yes, though she is too quiet for Jasper's liking. She is doing it so he doesn't suffer," says Carlisle. "She will make a remarkable young vampire and I must ask. I've heard tales of the Major himself. How is that he has not come out yet with so many vampires around," asks Aro. "Well he has. Just for short periods of time. It's like he's drifting in and out sort of while Bella's changing. He may take over completely eventually," I say. He nods in understanding and Alice waltzes out of the house and into the forest for a hunt. She has been oddly nice lately and it gave me a bad feeling.

Bella's POV

It feels as though my whole body should be nothing but ash in the wind though I keep burning. I know that if Jasper were to feel fully what I am, he would probably lose it so I'm blocking it from him. I know he hates it. I can actually feel the distaste coming from him. I only allow my shield to open enough to allow certain things through without overwhelming him. Though that had been proven difficult while I lay here in pain. I feel him stroke my hair and pull me into him. He whispers sweet words to me and leaves kisses all over my neck. The cold of his body cools the fire a little bit not enough to stop the pain. I can tell it's been a day and it has been a long one.

Once I finally complete the change, we can deal with Maria and start our life together. The only thing I can do now is wait until the fire ceases. I think back to the days when I first met him and think about how I was too stupid to see what was in front of me. Oh well. You can't go changing the past now can ya. You can only move forward and I know where I'm going.

Unknown POV

They all look so cozy thinking that they stand a chance against the mistress and her armies. Well we will see about that. I have been waiting for years to finally put the esteemed Major to shame and now I will finally get a chance. He will pay. He has to pay for what he did.
