3rd person's POV
Just outside the gate to the Shinigami Research and Development Institute, six soul reapers stand guard to make sure that the invading bounts can't get into the building. This building contained a number of dangerous tools and bizarre items contained, which is why they were put in charge of protecting it. Not too far from the building was Kariya, who was on his way to complete his plan. "You heard about the Kurosaki siblings?" One of them asked, "No, all I know is that they are here and are fighting against the Ryoka. What about them?" The second one asked, "I heard that Kuroki Kurosaki, the sister, is laid up in Squad Four's hospital. She fought against that Ryoka, Mitsuo and he injured her pretty badly. Apparently after their last fight, Kuroki was able to defeat him and he disappeared. Nobody has been able to sense or even locate Mitsuo since then." The first Soul reaper explained, "There's just no way.. He just disappeared?" The fourth Soul Reaper exclaimed, looking to the first one in disbelief. "He really did. None of the Captains have even be able to sense his reiatsu." The first one confirmed, five of the Soul Reapers stood in shock. "And what about the other Kurosaki sibling?" The third one asked, "I heard he's been running around the Seireitei trying to stop the ryoka. So are all their friends." The second one spoke up, "So that's why I haven't been able to sense Mitsuo. He has suddenly disappeared and that's why Ichigo has been running around here without his twin. If she's been laid up in the hospital than she must be out of commission for a while. Oh, well. I have no time to look or care for Mitsuo's sudden disappearance. I have a plan to finish." Kariya thought, he had decided to eavesdrop on the conversation between the Soul Reapers standing around. "Hey, who are you?!" The sixth Soul reaper notices Kariya walking towards the building, "He's one of the ryoka!" The third one shouted, recognizing that Kariya had been the one that all the Captain's had been searching for. The six soul reapers draw their zanpakuto and surround him, "It's such a nice day today, don't you think?" Kariya asked, a malicious smile stretching across his face.
In the research facility, Nemu leaves Rin Tsubokura with his task at his terminal and begins to walk away, when a loud crash sounds and the building suddenly shakes. "What was that?" Rin stopped working, his eyes shifting to Nemu as the red emergency lights in the building turn on. "I don't know what it is but something with immense power is coming this way." Nemu spoke up, the two are interrupted to tell Nemu that the ryoka had invaded the facility. But as Nemu quickly moves to respond alongside the other Soul Reapers in the facility, the large doors to the room are suddenly destroyed by a powerful gust of wind that transforms into three tornadoes. The gust sending Nemu and the researchers flying, destroying the equipment in the room before dissipating to reveal Kariya, who was on the other side of the hole in the wall. Trapped underneath the rubble with a bleeding head wound, Nemu stares up in terror at a stoic Kariya.
Meanwhile, Toshihiro had left Sui Feng after making sure that she would be okay. She sent him away as she didn't want too much interference with her own battles. He could feel at peace with the fact that Kuroki wasn't in distress anymore, he had no reason to worry for her at the moment. As he shunpoes from rooftop to rooftop, he senses a familiar spiritual energy and heads towards it. He just hoped that the person he sensed wasn't injured, otherwise, he would need to quickly get him to the same hospital Kuroki was in. All the while, Ichigo comes to a screeching half while heading towards the Senzaikyu Pavilion. He had sensed a powerful reiatsu coming from a certain area of the Soul Society and was headed to figure out who it belonged to and to stop whoever it was. "There's something powerful coming this way." Ichigo thought, "A bount reiatsu has disappeared. It's Kariya." Ririn spoke up, "He disappeared too. Where did you last sense him?" Ririn points Ichigo in the direction and he follows, when he is suddenly surprised by Toshihiro's sudden appearance in front of him. "Whoa!" Ichigo stops himself from colliding with Toshihiro, "What the hell, Toshihiro? You can't just suddenly appear in front of someone who's running! Where the hell did you even come from?" Ichigo snapped, irritated by Toshihiro nearly causing him to crash into him. "Sorry about that. I was flash stepping so fast when I felt your reiatsu nearby, I just wanted to make sure that you were alright." Toshihiro rubbed the back of his head, his eyes meeting Ichigo's brown ones.
"Well, thanks for checking up on me."
"No problem," Toshihiro smiled, "Where did you come from by the way?" Ichigo asked, looking at the brunette in curiosity. "I had just left Captain Sui Feng, I felt that she in trouble when I was at the hospital with Kuroki. I left Rukia, Rui and Ishihara there to watch over her in case anything happened." He explained, his hand resting on the handle of his zanpakuto which was hanging from his waistband.
"Still no sign of Mitsuo, huh?" Ichigo quipped.
"No, Rui thinks that Kuroki's last attack was enough to open up a rift and send him back to their realm." Toshihiro stated.
"I'm guessing after all this is over and done Rui will go home?" Ichigo straightened his posture, "Yeah, sadly. But he doesn't know how to get home. We're gonna have to help him figure it out." Toshihiro sighed, "Well, good thing the Soul Society has a captain who could probably figure out how to get him home." Ichigo retorted, Toshihiro was just about to say something when he sensed a familiar reiatsu headed towards them. "Kurodo!" Ririn shouted from her spot on Ichigo's shoulder, Ichigo and Toshihiro followed her line of vision and let out a breath of relief when they saw that it was Chad. "Hey, Chad." Toshihiro greeted, "Hey, Ichigo. Toshihiro." Chad greeted, "Did you sense the same spiritual pressure we did?" Ichigo asked Chad, "Yeah, I was just heading towards it." Chad confirmed, "It's Kariya." Noba stated, "Then we need to get going." Ichigo, Chad and Toshihiro all take off running towards where they felt Kariya's energy.
"You know I've waited a long time to fight a Quincy." Yoshi smirked, though the expression falls off of her face as Uryu doesn't say anything. She grows solemn and glares at Uryu, who still doesn't acknowledge what she has said. Without saying anything, Uryu suddenly leaps high into the air with Hirenkyaku, casting a large shadow over Yoshi. "What the hell?" Uryu passes in front of the sun and fires a powerful Heilig Pfeil, it slams into the area where Yoshi is standing. Leaping out of the resulting dust cloud onto one of the nearby pillars, Yoshi springs off of it right before another Heilig Pfeil pierces the stone where she had landed, "You little.." Yoshi throws the sword of her Doll, Nieder, at Uryu while the latter lands on an opposite pillar. Uryu completely sidesteps the blade and drops to the ground, while it carves out a chunk of the pillar in the wake of its slash. Upon seeing Uryu fall past the edge of the pavilion, Yoshi retracts her sword and runs over to the edge, where she spots Uryu standing several meters away on an arched rooftop and running off the side. "He's doing all this just to lure me in. How clever. Well two can play at that game, Quincy." Yoshi follows Uryu to the flat rooftop of one of the buildings in the compound below. The two of them stand on opposite ends of the roof, "I think it's stupid that you have not given up on revenge." Yoshi admonished. "It's not about revenge, that's not what I'm doing." At this comment, Yoshi looks at Uryu with confusion. "Why are you doing this when there is no meaning to this at all?" Uryu asked, still leaving Yoshi in confusion. "Soul Reapers and Quincy's are supposed to be enemies. Why is it that you are helping the Soul Reapers?" Yoshi questioned, "I'm not helping the Soul Repeats, I just wish to put an end to all this pointless fighting." Yoshi chuckles in disbelief, scratching her neck with her closed fan. "That does not make any sense." She claimed, "I will put an end to this battle on my pride as a Quincy." Uryu declared, "You can do as you like if you wants to die so badly." She chuckled, mocking Uryu.
In Kuroki's hospital room, Rukia and Ishihara had dozed off on the couch leaving Rui to his own devices. Upon sensing the large spiritual energy coming from somewhere else in the Soul Society, Rui was left on edge. He sat beside Kuroki's bed, looking out of the window in anticipation of what was to come. Kuroki opened her eyes, closing them quickly after being blinded by the bright hospital lights. She shifted in bed, sitting up as she could sense the same energy that Rui felt. "I think the final battle is coming up," She said, startling Rui. He looked over his shoulder, a soft smile stretching across his lips as he saw Kuroki looking much better. "How are you feeling?" He asked, "Better.." Her smile faded as she looked out of the window, "I have a feeling that Ichigo is going to need me. And soon."
