Reader x Levi ~ Promise pt. 2

"Keep it PG rated okay?" Erwin smirked and closed the door behind him. Levi cursed and waved his hands locking the door with a slam.

"Calm down! It's fine aha." You laughed as he shook with rage. You patted him on the back lightly hoping his would calm down. He smiled weakly and shook his head.

"Erwin, he's always like that. He loves annoying people. Knowing me, I'm cold and emotionless, he annoys me the most." Levi explained.

"But you're not emotionless, you...you're kind. Aren't you?" you asked with curiosity flashing in your eyes.

"Nah nah, I can get really violent!" He chuckled summoning a rolling pin from the kitchen. "Don't piss me off!"

"Gah!!" You squeaked jumping off the couch running around the coffee table with Levi chasing you.

"Don't run, I can run really fast!" Levi yelled.

"Haha try catch me then!" You teased.

"Oh I will!" Levi answered making a cushion that was on the floor slide across to you feet making you trip over.

"Hey that's not fair!" You whined lying on the floor with Tonks licking your cheek. Before you could get up or even think of anything else, you felt something soft make contact with your lips. Levi was kissing you.

Your eyes grew wide in surprise and you gasped. Well not literally but your heart skipped a beat. Yes he was charming and hot af but him kissing you?! You never dreamed.

After pulling apart, you could only stare into his amazing cold eyes. He was truly charming.

"Listen (F/n)." He said in his deadpanned voice again. "You are in danger. I...I want to be the one to protect you and you only."

"But...Levi....what exactly are you protecting me from?" You asked a little confused.

"Titans. Or monsters. Maybe both." He said waving it off still staring at you.

"Monsters?!" You scoffed, "They don't exist?"

"Oh yes they do. Just not the ones you imagine. There are these giant humanoid creatures who eat humans. Thats what the assassin group is named after. Titans. Then you get the Basilisk, a giant serpent, Hydra, nine headed beast, umm etc." Levi said counting his fingers then giving up because there were too many to list.

"Levi. I don't want you to protect me." You decided.

"Why not?!?" He demanded sitting up.

"Because one, I don't want you getting hurt, and two, if my fate cannot be revealed, then perhaps it is meant to be. You cannot change God's work." You said confidently. Even though your heart is longing for him, You can't allow him to risk his life for you.

"(F/n)-" He started but you held up your hand cutting him off. Pain replaced anger that shone in his eyes. "Please...." He whispered.

"Levi. I beg you. Please go." You said with your voice just above a whisper. "I can't see you hurt, I hate you. Leave."

"It's not going to work (F/n), I know you don't hate me." Levi said with a faint smile.

"Please."

"I'll leave you to rest tonight. But I will be back tomorrow around 12 okay?" He asked.

"Okay, but knock like a normal person please." You joked standing up wiping the small teardrop away. He hugged you again and left without another word closing the door behind him, locking it.

You suddenly felt so alone despite your dogs huddling around you. Feeling so exhausted, you couldn't be bothered to climb into bed, you turned off the light and lit a candle, then passed out on the couch with Tonks and Teddy.

You woke to Teddy licking your face. Smiling, you brushed him away and for the first time, you noticed how messy your apartment was. You sighed and began cleaning ignoring the grumbling from your hungry stomach.

After feeding both your dogs, you took a nice hot long shower. You blowdried your (Hair length) (Hair colour) hair and tied it into a high ponytail. Pulling on a pair of black skinny jeans and a grey sweat shirt and a warm red jumper with white words across the front saying 'NYC'. You then applied foundation and light eyeliner followed by some dark pink lip gloss.

"Shoot!" You exclaimed. You completely forgot you still had work today and the coffee you promised Annie. You grabbed your iPhone 5s and dialled Annie's number.

"Hey Anns!" You exclaimed the moment she picked up.

"Where the flip are you?" A pissed voice called from the other end.

"I'm so sorry Anns, I woke up late and I'm not feeling the best. I seriously need to discuss something with you. Please don't get angry at me!" You said not stopping in between.

"Whoa calm down (F/n)! Tell me slowly, I can finish work early today, I've finished my report." Annie offered.

"Sounds great but I have a meeting with someone at 12. Don't get any ideas, its complicated. Also, how about you stay at mine for the weekend? Will Bertoldt mind?"

"No no, He can suck it up." Annie laughed from the other end.

"Awesome, I'll explain everything then, I'm sorry again." You apologised.

"No probs, I gotta go anyway. Seeya this weekend!"

"Okay bye!" Then you hung up. You sighed in relief as you headed to the kitchen to fetch yourself something to eat. After a great hunt and not find anything appetising, you decided to go to the shops to buy some food.

You grabbed your purse and car keys before saying goodbye to your dogs and locking the door behind you. You descended the flight of stairs and jogged to the car park where your Mini-Cooper was waiting for you.

When you opened your car and got inside, you didn't know what frightened you more. The fact that there was another stranger sitting in the passenger seat or how he got into your ca without damaging it.

The man wore all black with a hoodie covering half his face which made it impossible to recognise who he is. He looked at you and you could make out a smirk from under the hood.

Sitting there frozen in fear, he pulled out a small knife from his pocket. You were about to scream, you felt another pair of arms cover your mouth and headlock you from behind.

"Miss (F/n)? Am I correct?" The man in all black sneered. You ignored him but your heart was pounding 100k/h.

"Answer him." Hissed the person strangling you. You whimpered feeling yourself tear up. With great difficulty, you nodded ever so slightly.

"Good. Now, You must already understand why we are here." Sneered the guy in black again.

"No I don't." You lied when the man uncovered your mouth.

"No?" Asked the man taken back.

"One question. Why try to kill me in broad daylight?" You asked hoping to buy time and hoping Levi might pass buy to save you.

"I bewitched the windows. If anyone looks our way, they will only see their own reflections." Answered the man you had not yet seen.

"Isn't that a little suspicious?" You mocked but they didn't seem to notice.

"No." Snapped the man in black. He removed his hood and your heart skipped about a million beats. Bertoldt.

"Surprise surprise."
