Chapter 14: Palutena's POV

The five of us sat in a small smoothie shop that was a few blocks away from the school. We still had about thirty five minutes till lunch ended.

We all slurped our drinks in silence, no one really in the mood to speak.

I was the first one to speak, also finishing my smoothie. "So, uh, Zelda? How did you find out Ike cheated on you?" I instantly regretted my words when I saw pain and hurt flash through her eyes.

Way to go, Pat! That's the most stupidest thing to ask!

She opened her mouth, ready to respond, when she was cut off by a loud irritaed groan.

Everyone snapped their heads towards Peach, who was fuming. "What will it take to prove to you nimwads that Ike never cheated on Zelda with Samus?!"

Zelda immediately hissed back. "Nothing, because I saw it with my own eyes." Tears began to form at the corners of her eyes as Peach's hard gaze began to soften.

She sighed as she placed a hand on her mouth. "Oh, Zelda. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry."

The Hylian girl shot up from her chair, a loud screech ringing throughout the room from the movement. "Sure you didn't. Just like how you didn't mean to not trust or believe me."

She whipped around and fled the seating booth and towards the ladies room.

I was about to chase after her when I saw Link jump up and run after Zelda, catching her right before she hid into the bathroom.

With a sigh, I attempted to start a conversation. "So, uh, what's up?"

Peach shrugged. "Nothing. All everyone has been talking about is the whole Zelda-Link-Ike-Samus thing."

Roy just continued to enjoy his smoothie.

I narrowed my eyes, vigilant as I spied on Link and Zelda, who we're talking and staring into each others eyes.

Turning back to the group, I blurted out. "Am I the only one who thinks Link is so fake."

Roy choked in his drink. "What are you talking about?" He asked once being able to talk.

"This whole thing? Why does Link want to help Zelda? What is he gonna get out of it? Obviously, it's doing something for him," I explained. "I think he's just using Zelda."

Roy shrugged. "He's just doing it cause he likes the damn girl. Link's hated Ike since forever, and this is his chance to get at him."

I frowned. "I still think something's up."

Peach rolled her eyes. "I hope this whole thing just blows over. Samus didn't backstab Zelda, Ike didn't cheat on her, and Link can just back off."

Both Roy and I turned to her. "Peach, really?" I said, irritated.

She let out a huge breath. "So...what do we do? Just pretend to be all happy and dandy with Samus and Ike while Link and Zelda plot their revenge?"

Roy nodded, his long, shaggy red hair bouncing. "Yup, pretty much."

"Blah! That's boring. We need to do something too!" She argued while I merely shrugged.

"I really don't care. As long as I don't get caught in the middle of it, I'm fine." I said as Roy agreed, nodding his head.

"Hmph! Unlike you two, I'm actually going to join in into all this drama." Peach said, dragging out the last word.

Roy raised a brow. "And how do plan on doing that?"

"By helping out! I mean, it's not like I can really do anything else." She murmured. "Besides, I can help with the planning of revenge."

I narrowed my eyes. "Why would you help? I thought you didn't agree."

She shrugged. "What else is there to do?"

"Again, how do you plan on doing that?" Roy asked, butting into the conversation.

With an irritated moan, she rolled her eyes. "Are you stupid or just stupid? I kinda just said it?"

"No you didn't. You said you would help with planning. That doesn't explain how you plan to join in."

"Yes it does."

"Not really."

"Uh, hello! It's does!"

"Nope."

"Uh huh!"

"Nada."

I slammed the table, a loud smack echoing throughout the room, also gaining both the idiots attention. "Are you two done acting like a bunch of five year olds?"

Peach frowned as she shot Roy a look, who in turn smirked.

I sighed and leaned back into my chair. My eyes found their way back to Link and Zelda, who we're making their way back to the table hand-in-hand.

As they walked, I couldn't help but wonder.

Just what are you planning, Link?
