Ariel's POV:

I was still standing in front of my window, everyone was rushing the person inside, but I wasn't able to see who. The alarm sounded, telling everyone it was safe. I was walking away from my window when I saw something move in the corner of my eye. I looked out again, it was a person, I couldn't see their face, but I know they saw me. Before I could react he/she threw a brick at my window. Luckily I was fast enough to move away.

It smashed through my window and when I looked back to see if the person was there, they were long gone. I didn't think anything of it until I saw there was a note taped to it, it read

WE'RE ALWAYS WATCHING YOU

I was freaking out, I couldn't breathe. It was like my lungs stopped working, my brain was trying to command my lungs to work but they didn't. I was going to die I know it.

"Ariel, calm down now. Breathe slowly but first calm down I'm here. There are people that are going to protect you."

She was right, I need to calm down but I don't know how. Someone's coming after me haven't I been through enough.

"Ariel please just breathe in and out slow and steady."

I listened to her, in and out slow and calm. I was able to catch my breath after a few seconds. Thank the moon goddess. I have to show this note to the alpha. Then I remebered there was something even worse, someone's dead.

I rushed out of my room, and ran downstairs. Everyone was down there, it was crowded and I needed to find the alpha. I spotted him in the middle of the crowd, but Cole wasn't with him, neither was the Luna. I knew Cole wasn't dead, I would've felt it, I seriously pray to the Moon Goddess that it's not the Luna. Jared wasn't there either, where was everyone.

I quickly rushed to the alpha, my heart beating, it scared me not knowing who was dead, and I was afraid that it was either the luna or Jared. I finally got to the alpha, all the thoughts of the note vanished. He looked at me and nodded for me to follow him.

"Ariel, as you know we lost someone, but you don't know who. I know you know it isn't Cole, and I'mhappy to tell you it isn't Cara either, thank the Moon Goddess. But we did lose someone important, and I know you want to know who it is. Follow me."

We were making our way to the pack hospital, I was so scared that it was Jared, I mean he just apologized he doesn't deserve this. He is important too, he's the upcoming beta, I seriously hope it's not him. But if it isn't him, then who would it be. We got to the hospital, and walked into one of the rooms.

Inside, laying on a hospital bed was...

Claire, Jared's mate, the soon to be beta female.

Sitting next to her was Jared, who was crying. He was holding her hand and telling himself she wasn't gone. Cole was sitting beside him, giving him the friendly comfort he needed. They didn't speak to each other and just sat there. I feel so bad for Jared, he 's a really good guy and he doesn't deserve any of this. The pain of losing your mate could make oone go crazy, I mean look at Bruce.

He must be in so much pain. I could tell that he loved her so much. I walked up to him and put my hand on his sholder. He didn't look back, but Cole did. I gave him a small smile and he gave one back.

"I'm so sorry Jared you and Claire didn't deserve this. Just know that we're all here for you. I don't know how you feel, but if you ever need someone I'm here and I know Cole is too."

With that, I walked out deciding that he just needed to be with his best friend.

BRUCE'S POV:

They suspect nothing yet. I know that they're going to find out that I sent those rouges to attack them, but I will always be one step ahead of them. I have someone on the inside and it's all falling into place. I'm going to get that weak little daughter of mine and beat the hell out of her. Her little mate won't be able to protect her, not for long.

After all, Nick and I have some tricks up our sleeves.
