DEREK POV:

The phone started to ring.
" hello?" Mer answered
" wait slow down what's going on?"
" okay who do you want over there."
" okay I'll talk to Owen."
" I'll call you when I know. Okay bye".
Was all I heard her saying.
" what was that?" I asked
" Addison."
" what's wrong? Everything okay?"
" no."
" what."
" she needs everyone down there."
" what for?"
" there has been a car accident Derek."
" do you know who was in it?"
" she didn't tell me."
" we don't have time to pack. I'll call Mark." I said
I dialed Mark's number.
" hey bud what's going on?"
" Mark we are going to LA."
" what for?"
" Addison called. There was a car accident."
" oh my... Do... Do we Umm..."
" no Mark we don't know what's going on. We don't have time to pack. Meredith is calling everybody we are meeting at the hospital in half an hour."
" Umm the kids?"
" we are leaving them at the daycare."
" okay I'll meet you there."
" okay bye."
We hung up and got the kids ready. About an hour later we had all met at the hospital. We drove to the airport and was anxious on the flight there. When we landed a driver took us to the hospital. We went in through the ER to see Pete standing there.
" Pete." I said
" Derek! You made it. Thank god we really could use all your help."
" what's going on?"
" there was a car accident."
" we know that much but involving who?"
" Cooper, his wife and Mason."
" oh my god." Mark said
" oh Charlotte is pregnant with triplets."
"Karev lets go." Robbins said
" jo come on." Alex said waiting for her to follow.
" I'm on Ortho today." She said
He looked at her with a look of disbelief. After the incident on Valentine's Day nobody was really talking to him. Everybody was pretty pissed at him. Addison came out.
" oh my god thank god you made it."
" addison what happened." I said
" I don't know. They are all unconscious. All we know is that it was a hit and run and the driver is missing". " let's see them." Mark said.
We walked in to Mason's room.
" run it Karev." Robbins said.
" actually I wanna hear it from Robbins." I said
" Derek...." Robbins said.
" Arizona... Go ahead." Mer said
" no Alex do the rounds." Arizona said
" 12 year old male Mason Freedman car accident. Head laceration and seems like a few scratches, bruises and a few broken ribs. Nothing major." Alex said
" nothing major? Seriously Karev." I shook my head and walked away. He followed.
" listen I know you are mad at me trust me I would be too. I am mad at me since my girlfriend or ex-girlfriend gave me back her engagement ring the night I proposed so yeah we both have the right to be clearly pissed but not here. Not while we're working. Not while we're saving lives."
" first of all yeah it was your fault second do not tell me where to fight you and third do not talk to your superiors like that do you understand me."
" yes sir."
" good. Get back in there".
Meredith came out
" what are we gonna do?" Mer asked
" just ignore him he's not our problem."
" no not him. I'm talking about Cooper and his family."
" well I guess we will stay here as long as they need. Fly the kids here tomorrow."
" okay I'll call the daycare."
Somebody's monitor started to beep.
" Who's is that!" I yelled.
" it's Charlotte's she's seizing! DEREK GET IN HERE NOW!" Mark yelled.
I ran in.
" TURN HER ON HER SIDE. COME ON DO IT NOW! GET ME ROBBINS AND THE BRAIN CT!" I yelled.
" what's going on Shepherd?" Arizona asked
" She's seizing every 3 minutes. I need to get her into the OR. Look at the CT."
" oh no."
" what?" Alex said
" one of the babies are pushing down on a trigger for seizures to the brain. The baby has to come out now." I said
" it's too soon."
" Arizona look. I know it is too soon but look what this baby is going to do to its mother if we don't take it out."
" I have to talk to Cooper."
" Arizona..."
" I need to talk to the husband."
" he's unconscious."
" then no surgery."
" I'm sorry?"
" we are not opening we up until we have a go ahead."
"Arizona this is ridiculous." I said
" no Derek we didn't open your wife up until you gave the go ahead."
everyone was in the room now.
" fine do whatever you want. One thing though.." I was yelling through my teeth " you are just like Karev. You gotta ruin everybody's day. I never gave you the go ahead to rip my child from my wife's body. I never gave you the permission to take away my child. I never told you it's okay to open my wife up to take out a human being that was our own. I never gave you the go ahead. You took my wife into surgery to save her life. That's what I am trying to do here. So I don't know why you are waiting for a go ahead when you never received one from me." I walked out.
