There are many speculations as to what the rake just might be. Witnesses describe the humanoid like creature as having pale or grey skin, very thin with long claws or hands and such, with its haunting large dark eyes. It appears to have a mind, and in some very very old documentations and encounters with this creature, it can speak. Others would simply put it as looking like a naked man or strange deformed mutated like dog.
It could be a top secret experiment gone wrong, causing a deformed dangerous human like being.
It could be a demon whom haunts its victims and lives in forest, caves, dwelling within the dark shadows.
Or some sort of an alien like being.
After some research heres what I came across that I found interesting:
"In relation to Slenderman The Rake is speculated by some to be a Proxy that has, through mutation (perhaps from prolonged exposure to Sigma Radiation), the strange powers Slenderman seems able to give (e.g. The Collective) or perhaps by self mutilation somehow changed overtime into a creature bearing little resemblance to a human being, this would explain why it is able to interact physically with it's surroundings/victims without (unlike other Canon beings) needing the aid of a human being. It could also be speculated from this theory that there is not and/or has not always been one Rake as it even today has been known to operate across several countries and has witness encounters from hundreds of years ago."
Fun fact: This dangerous creature gets its name from the long claws it has.
