Little Facts #1
Kiaan loves cats.
And Kaanch… is allergic to them.
One rainy afternoon in their childhood, Kiaan found a tiny, shivering kitten on his way home from school. Without a second thought, he picked it up and tucked it safely inside his bag. When he reached home, he quietly hid it in the backyard.
Later that day, without taking a shower, Kiaan ran to see Kaanch—like he always did. But Kaanch frowned slightly and asked,
"Did you… play with a cat?"
Startled, Kiaan quickly shook his head.
"No."
He knew if Kaanch found out, he’d either ask someone in the house to send the kitten away—or worse, he wouldn't let Kiaan come close to him. And Kiaan didn’t want either of those things to happen.
That night, when the house was asleep, Kiaan snuck out with a little bowl of milk and some leftover food. As he crouched near the backyard wall, feeding the kitten and whispering softly to it, someone was silently watching from behind a tree.
It was Kaanch.
When Kiaan reached out to pet the kitten, a voice spoke gently behind him:
"Do you love cats?"
Kiaan flinched. He turned slowly, nervous, afraid.
"Yes," he replied, almost in a whisper.
Kaanch walked forward, calm and quiet. He sat down beside Kiaan and reached out… patting the kitten softly on its tiny head.
Kiaan stared, wide-eyed.
"You don’t like cats…"
Kaanch looked at him with the faintest smile.
"I don’t," he said. "But it’s your cat."
