I’m starting to post back over on Inkitt (writerbrittanyb there too). Just to have as a backup just in case - so feel free to follow me over there too if you’d like :)

Hey, I just wanted to say that you shouldn't doubt your writing. I'm envious of your writing talent, I wish I was able to make my readers' toes curl and jump out of their seats when they get to the next chapter. Don't worry about getting excited about the book because pushing it will only chase it further away. Give yourself time to want to write. I'm fairly new to writing, and I feel like every piece I work on makes me second guess if I'm good enough. I loved this book ' One Bite '. I can't wait to see what you have next. Please keep up the amazing work you are so talented. I love the way you portrayed Maeve.

So part of my “trying to fix my writer’s block and debilitating self doubt” is to take a break from a book to write something small (like a short story/novella). When I have enough in it to feel like I can post it, would you want to read it?

@Melody_Tanner I agree everything she writes is incredible I bet she'd move me with the words " cabbage and flour"

Hey, I am re-reading Grave Sight and I noticed that you have Chief instead of sheriff. I thought you should know that you should probably change Chief because it’s not actually the proper term for police. Chief is misrepresented, it’s an indigenous term meaning the head of a tribe. For the indigenous people I would recommend you change it.

As a woman whose father, grandfather etc are Potawatomi,
I have No Problem with the term Chief.
So, Before you decide to speak for everyone else, speak only for yourself. The world doesn't need the PC Police just because a person decides to carry a mantle for every other Indigenous person, maybe ask if we want your help?

If you don't live in the USA, Which is the only place I know of that uses the term...
            Per Google...
            Definition: Chief (n.)

            c. 1300, "head, leader, captain; the principal or most important part of anything;" from Old French chief "leader, ruler, head" of something, "capital city" (10c., Modern French chef), from Vulgar Latin *capum, from Latin caput "head," also "leader, chief person; summit; capital city" (from PIE root *kaput- "head"). Meaning "head of a clan" is from 1570s; later extended to American Indian tribes. Commander-in-chief attested from 1660s. [1]

@magdala798s It’s okay. In terms of the story, it’s the correct term for what he is in the police.
