@whiterosepage Hm, this will be the first book in the duology, so perhaps that might work. Still need to upload the last five chapters which will bring it to a total of around 65k words, so that would work (hopefully).

@leannansithe Apparently they'll only judge the first book, which must be at minimum 50,000 words long. They won't consider sequels or spin-offs in the judging process. The official rules goes more in depth though, maybe you can find a loophole! I think I'll just sit this one out either way, though.

In the past I had a toxic friend. She was manipulative and could be cruel, but she could also be SO fun. I never had to wonder who I would spend holidays with when she was around. Then, for my mental health I cut her off. That was about a year ago. It was really hard to feel so isolated all the time over the months. Yet, today on the 4th of July, I'm alone again. I thought of her, but this time I don't miss her or wish I was with her. Progress. Happy 4th, y'all! <3
