            Jim's eyes sparkled in mischief. "Blackmail!" he whisper-yelled. He looked at the helmet, and then at the mech. "Not..." he squinted to read the name on the helmet, "Cindfp? Cinder," he corrected himself, guessing the washed out letters, "the morgue tells that Cinder's heart gave in," he shrugged glibly. 
            
            Death was common in his line of work, and if he wanted to feel bad about dead people, he'd go to a hospital and cry there. It didn't matter how he got his hands on this helmet, Jim would go through huge lengths to acquire even the smallest of things he has wanted on a whim. 
            
            "But first, your wish. Ask me for anything, and if I can make it happen for you, I will," he placed a hand on his heart earnestly.

                 Veridus was momentarily taken aback , his eyes widening for the briefest second before his features settled into their usual composure.  A quiet huff escaped his nose.  He had a feeling getting this man off his back wouldn’t be an easy task.  It wasn’t that he had anything against the stranger;  he simply wasn’t keen on giving someone he’d only just met a personal tour of his machine.  Lately , the pilot had grown rather accustomed to his solitude , preferring his own company over entertaining strangers.
            
                 “ How the hell did you even get your hands on that ?  Better yet , where did you find it ? ”  he questioned , a hint of disbelief creeping into his voice.  “ Most pilots tend to get obliterated in combat , and their equipment usually goes down with them. ”  He blinked , shifting his feet before settling his weight onto one leg. 
            
                 “ You’re . . .  quite the peculiar fellow , you know that ? ”  With a weary sigh , he raised a gloved hand to pinch the bridge of his nose before adjusting his glasses once more.

(I've assumed that there were some pilots that Earth has taken care of... but let me know if that clashes with any plot you have in mind. I'm just making stuff up, haven't played the video game. Happy to change it up)
