a  half  hearted  muse  never  stood  
a chance against cold hearted fools
fake tans against cherry red  lipstick
short skirts, high  heels,  caught  his
misguided attention.  Someone  you
know turns into someone  you  don't
under  californian sun in the summer
the  fakes  make  you cringe but you
can't help but wish  you  could catch 
his  attention  like   them,  they claim
to want real  girls, but  ditch   you for
the  bimbo   they   met  in  an improv
class.   The   sexism  isn't   one  way
it dips through  girly   fingers  as  we
protest  to  not  be  treated  that way,
but  we  talk  about  boys like  they're
toys, but  we want  them  to  treat  us
like  people.  it's all too contradictory
for me.   I  just  wish  you'd  make  up 
your  mind  and  not  use lies to keep
me   attached   to   your   leash   and 
under the  californian sun in  summer.
