Give me some cool words

Kittie-Mewling

Delphinium- a flower, or a person from Delphi 
            
            Postmortem- after death, usually for directly after death
            
            Autonomy- one’s ability to think and care for themselves 
            
            Viscera- blood, gore or corpse fluids.
            
            Embalm- the processes of removing a body’s fluids after death and replacing them with fluids to preserve the body. (There’s more to it also but that’s the short of it) 
            
            Bollworm- moths or larvae that eat cotton
            
            Rotgut- bad liquor 
            
            Seraphic- like seraphim or angels
            
            Gauntlet- you probably already know that this means a metal glove however it can also mean a form of punishment in which a person is forced to run between two lines of men facing each other and armed with clubs or whips to beat the victim
            
            Firth- an estuary
            
            Talisman- a trinket or symbol worn around the neck, similar to a choker or necklace, thought to bring protection 
            
            Cloister- keep away from the outside world, sheltered. Not necessarily good, one could say they were cloistered away when they were kidnapped.
            
            Rede- to give advice to
            
            Embossom- to press to one’s chest

Sanguinary- bloodthirsty
            
            petrichor- the distinct smell before or after rain. Derived from the Latin phrase “Petra” meaning rock or stone and “ichor” meaning blood of the gods (the Greek gods bled special gold blood)
            
            Esquire- a nobleman in training for knighthood, a knight’s apprentice
            
            Avian- relating to birds
            
            Saccharine- overly, sickeningly sweet
            
            popinjay- someone who desires praise or attention based on appearance, a vain individual
            
            Gorp- trail mix, the origin of the word being an acronym “good old raisins and peanuts”
            
            Clandestine- done in stealth or secret
            
            Footpad- a man who robs people as they travel, however they are unlike a highway man because they travel by foot, while highwaymen travel by horse
            
            Brigand- a member of a gang that ambushes people in the mounting or forests
            
            Desperado- a desperate or reckless person
            
            Autocrat- a dictator, however usually not one who assumes power by force. All dictators are autocrats however not all autocratic leaders are dictators, autocratic leaders can be elected. The defining feature of an autocrat is that they have complete and total power.
            
            hierophant- a priest or seer that interprets sacred mysteries or esoteric principles
            
            Prudence- cautiousness 
            
            Proditomania- the intense belief that the people you trust are traitors
            
            Wanderlust- the need to explore 
            
            Bastion- a giant wall, or a place in which an ideology is protected.
