I've been spending a lot of time working on Before I Said It, and I'm making some good progress!
Today, I finished editing Chapter 7, so the prologue and first seven chapters are now revised.
I've been focusing on tightening the timeline, strengthening character development, making conversations feel more natural, and ensuring the emotions come through without overexplaining them.
I also added an entirely new chapter! While editing, I realized a gap in the story deserved more attention. Instead of rushing past it, I slowed things down and gave those moments the space they needed.
One of the biggest things I'm learning through this process is that editing isn't just about fixing sentences. Sometimes it's about recognizing what's missing, what needs more development, and what doesn't need to be explained at all.
There's still a lot of work ahead, but I'm happy with the direction the story is taking. I'm trying to make sure every chapter feels like it belongs and every character's actions and emotions make sense.
Slowly but surely, Before I Said It is becoming the story I want it to be. ❤️
