Just finished episode 28 of Fated Mates of the Drakoan. I'm getting really close to the end of season 1.

Sneak Peak (Live to Intersellar Crewmembers on Friday, Live here on July 26):

“Will you stay by my side?” He held his breath, afraid she would say no. He was terrified that without her by his side, he couldn’t maintain control, especially in this volatile situation.

          	She nodded.

“Good. Stay behind me. I’m going to go out there and deescalate the situation.”

          	“You’re going to what?!”

But he ignored the exclamation. He could have tried to reassure her, but he wasn’t sure if his words would have helped or alarmed her further.

So instead, he turned back to the door, wrenched it open, and stepped out into the madness beyond.

Just finished episode 26 of Fated Mates of the Drakoan. I'm looking forward to the next episode as the shit's gonna hit the fan a bit then. ;-)

Sneak Peak (Live to Intersellar Crewmembers on Friday, Live here on June 28):

          	Maybe it’s fine.

          	Maybe I won’t lose control.

Maybe I can still manage this.

The thought made him smile. Maybe he wouldn’t change. Maybe it would be fine. Maybe he would get this under control, and things would just go back to normal.

But then the door opened, letting in a human in a suit, along with the scents and sounds from the hallway.

There were footsteps and doors opening and closing.

          	There were muddled conversations.

There was the scent of food, probably from the mess hall.

Then there was the scent of blood.

The scent was faint, and deep down he knew it wasn’t recent, but it was familiar. It brought to mind that clearing soaked in blood. It brought to mind Jess being injured. It brought to mind the claw marks on her belly. And then his nose zeroed in on the scent of her blood, and instinct took over.

          	He roared.

Just finished episode 23 of Fated Mates of the Drakoan. I had some fun with this one. Still a bit dark, but moving toward a big reveal (that will be a surprise to probably no one...

Sneak Peak (Live to Intersellar Crewmembers on Friday, Live here on May 17):

          “Davin. Can you understand me?”
          Jess froze.
          Wait.
          Davin’s here?
But that didn’t make any sense. Surely, if Davin were here, he would have said something by now. He would have been trying to reassure her or stop this beast, right? He wouldn’t just be standing there, right?
The only answer to Van’s question was another growl.
He turned, gesturing for the others to leave.
          Wait…
          Come back!

Just finished episode 21 of Fated Mates of the Drakoan. I've been reading some dark romance of late and I think it slipped into my writing a bit...

Sneak Peek (Live on Ream on Friday, Live here April 19):

For a brief moment, she was actually grateful he was holding her up in the air, if for no other reason than that it kept her feet off the ground. The soles throbbed in pain, and she could feel blood trickling across the swollen skin.

But that wasn’t the only place with free flowing blood. Her captor had loosened his grip slightly so that he was no longer piercing her. But that just meant the sharp pain had dulled and made it easier to track the stream of blood from the wounds all the way down her torso to her waistband.

How much blood am I losing?

Just finished episode 20 of Fated Mates of the Drakoan. We are leading up into the All is Lost moment for Jess and Davin's story. Something bad's about to happen... mwahahahaha!

Sneak Peek (Live on Ream on Friday, Live here April 5):
She kept walking, approaching the voices, but her steps started slowing. Something felt wrong, though she couldn’t immediately put her finger on what. The wrongness made her wish she had a weapon, or at least that protective vest, but she was defenseless.
Then she realized what was wrong.
          It doesn’t sound the same.
She stopped dead in her tracks, alarm filling her.
It didn’t sound the same. She was good at recognizing languages and language families. She could often get the feel for their cadences and nuances even when she didn’t understand the words. And this sounded nothing like the Drakoans’ language. This language was hard, jagged, where the Drakoans’ language was more sibilant, soft, flowing.
          Those aren’t Drakoans.
          Those aren’t humans.
Her stomach soured, her skin growing cold, and she took a step back unconsciously.
          Snap.

So, I just finished writing and scheduling Episode 19. There ended up being a surprise spicy bit at the end of the episode, and it got me realizing... every... single... planned... spicy scene in this story involves exhibitionism. Which is funny because that's not really my norm when writing. But... maybe it's just their kink?

Sneak Peek (Live on Ream on Friday, Live here March 22):
His hand dived quickly between her legs, finding her clit like his finger was a heat-seeking missile. There was no hesitation, no awkwardness. No, he just went for the gold and had heat blooming for her more and more until she could feel it rushing down her legs and curling her toes.

If you're waiting on a new episode and need something to read, I do a Book of the Month on Ream.

Each month, a book is picked to be serialized to Followers (Free) and Serial Lovers ($5/month). Serial Lovers get the books about twice as fast (as well as getting Fated Mates of the Drakoan 5 episodes ahead). eBook Lovers ($10) get access to my entire non-KU library immediately.

This month's book is Terra's Fate.

What you don't know can get you killed…

Terra just wanted to work. Unfortunately, instead of a job, she got a one-way trip to the shifter internment camps. Struggling with denial, she rails against the system, insisting they've made a mistake. That is, until she meets Annie, a parentless child thrust into the same unforgiving environment. But as she falls into a pattern caring for the girl, an even darker reality assaults her.

Terrified, Terra escapes the camp in an act of desperation and stumbles on a hidden society. They welcome her freely, but she doesn't trust them, ready to flee at a moment's notice.

But a greater threat looms, the fate of humans and shifters alike hanging in the balance. Then, just as the battle seems to be over, the fight hits home. Can Terra come to accept herself before prejudice's toxic touch destroys them all?

Okay, I'm back and I started a new story, Fated Mates of the Drakoan. It will be posting (fully edited) every 2 weeks (Also, when did we get chapter scheduling? I'm kind of excited). It's also available early access from my Ream subscription (https://reamstories.com/authordanielleforrest).

          Blurb:

An impending alien invasion brings the Drakoan military to the rescue, but when they arrive, the battle is already over. And yet, the fight is just beginning…

With no news of the fate of the Earth itself, Commander Davin and his team descend to the planet's surface to investigate, discovering not only a web of mysteries in need of unraveling, but the enticing scent of a fated mate…
