          If you’ve read Red Roses, then you know about Otis. He was based off of my real dog, Otis. Sadly, about 20 minutes ago, he passed away. He was very sick and we had to put him down.
          
          Me and my dad were at his side as he went. He’ll never hurt again.
          
          I love you and miss you, Otis. You were the best dog a girl could ever ask for. You were loving, happy, and so very handsome. May you be pet by every angel in heaven and eat all the table scraps you want.
