Umm..I dunno if it will help you or not, but I would like to recommend you to read "Broken bonds" in 'Fanfiction.net' (I forgot the writer's name)...it's one of the bestest gintama fic ever!!! ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ
          The situation's quite similar to your story "I will find you"(Ｔ▽Ｔ)
          so if you've got free time on your hands then please try reading it, you may get some few ideas from it!!!!
