(it  is  calculated,  her  movement  to  call  upon  her  domain.  streams  would  halt  by  her  feet  at  just  a  breath;  deep  seas  parting  without  much  thought.  now,  though,  it  is  an  unfortunate  struggle  set  by  mortal  fear  &  subconscious  to  even  lift  water  above  her.  still,  to  please  &  see  her  smile,  the  goddess  makes  it  bend  to  her  will:  a  puddle  rising  to  swirl  around  the  girl,  never  once  touching  her)               what  would  you  like  to  see ?

i  mean  no  disrespect,            (surely,  part  of  her  knows  this  is  a  terrible  way  to  begin  a  sentence,  even  more  so  knowing  she  wants  no  arguments  to  ensue.  yet,  irony  strikes  her  across  the  face  like  a  mother’s  palm.  the  traits  she  adopts  from  the  sea—queen  aren’t  quite  those  of  which  this  goddess  speaks  but  that  doesn’t  erase  how  the  two  feel  closer  to  one  than  echo  would  like)          i  simply  mean  you  are  god,  yes ?  you  are  above  us  regular  people  in  more  ways  than  imaginable,  i  suppose.  but  briar  &  i  aren’t  MEANT  to  be  like  you.  we  aren’t  built  to  hold  your  minds  or  your  powers  &,  unfortunately  for  us  all,  your  mannerisms  aren’t  so  easily  acceptable  in  our  society.  no  one  sees  you  as  YOU  anymore.  they  see  regular  people  acting  differently.           (she  pauses,  gaze  shifting  to  her)       i’m  sure  there  are  things  to  learn  from  you,  but  that  doesn’t  mean  everything  you  do  is  superior. ⠀ ⠀ careful,  mortal.  (green eyes narrow,  an unfamiliar sharpness passing through them.  no where is the soft features of brair,  here artemis stands in her entirety.
            ⠀ ⠀ a part of her nags,  she is right.  they are not longer proper gods.  this body is fragile and this mind is weak,  artemis has trouble connecting with the land,  with animals in this new form.  she is now nothing but eons of memories and the fading power of the wilderness.) 
            ⠀ ⠀ gods  are  still  gods,  they  can  make  your  life  —  what’s  that  saying  you  mortals  like  to use?  —  oh,  “a  living  hell.”  your  lady  holds  the  memory  of  the  sea,  she  likes  to  be  troublesome  one  moment  and  calm  the  next.  maybe  you  can  learn  from  her. 

but  she  isn’t  the  sea.  nor  are  you  ‘ gods ’  anymore.  not  the  way  you’re  used  to  being             (though  likely  unwise,  echo’s  thoughts  are  voiced  before  she  can  think  otherwise,  something  happening  often  ever  since  the  tethering  to  whom  she  hosts)         i  just  don’t  see  why  you—  well,  SHE  at  least—  insists  on  standing  out  when  all  it  does  is  bring  trouble  &  discord  for  the  both  of  us.  no  offense  to  her,  i  guess
