I was asked today why KPop fans get defensive so quickly? And it got me thinking. Maybe it's because we are so used to defending our interests in the said Fandom. Maybe because people don't respect the Fandom/ genre itself. Maybe because we are always taunted for the said Fandom. Maybe because the society makes us feel that kpop is alien. Maybe because no one defends us and we have to do it ourselves. Or Maybe it's because we are constantly being told to prove why we love them. Perhaps I could show them why I love my Fandom, but they'd never understand with the view of prejudice that they're wearing. -A piece of work by the author. Feel free to add on your answers. I'd love to read them.
@scopian_16 people keep asking why I listen to k-pop when I don't understand what they say. Korean is a foreign language just as Spanish and Hindi that people like. That's honestly the dumbest question I get from people. It's also not just about the music (I Stan a lot of Idols not because of their music), the artists/Idols are funny and real to themselves and everyone. I feel it's a breath of fresh air. Not to forget the fact that they're BEAUTIFUL
@scopian_16 Of course.....in the first place there shouldn't be any need to explain our fandom. Not only for Kpop be it anything, it's our choice, our intrest, our mind that pulls us towards a particular thing and naturally we tend to have a liking to it so people should not question our choice and respect it. So what if you don't like something I like and vice versa.. Live with it, it's your life and it's my life. People should not force their likings or choices on anyone else and point it out or taunt it as maybe a mistake or an insult. There's freedom not only with the way you live there freedom in every single thing. Freedom in speech. Freedom in choice and every other thing. So we shouldn't ever feel that we have to prove anything to anyone.
