hello to whoever reading this message.
There is this thought that has really been stuck in my mind since past few days and now I really cannot help but share it to see if others agree with me or is it just me going nuts.
A lot of wattpad writer community has been deviated from actually plotting and publishing good stories with actual plot and has started a new trend of just creating flashy reels and instagram content to bring in readership.
What use to take an authentic wattpad writer atleast an year of hardwork to hit a million reads is done within weeks because of hyped up cliche content. I don't oppose the idea of posting insight about your stories on Instagram, I myself create content for my book there, but depending on just flashy reels rather than content is a little unjust.
It's frustrating to see genuinely good stories (and authors that actually focus on detailing on Wattpad) that deserve much more attention being overshadowed by superficial content.
I too write dark romances but just trying to portray your main male characters as villains and morally grey men by alloting them cringe dialogues and not focusing on their actual personality and sense of aura just ruins the vibes. I myself love red flags and obsessive men in stories but just making them aesthetically pleasing on pictures isn't going to do the job.
I really crave the old Wattpad back where we actually wrote real red flag characters that gave you goosebumps down your spine and made your pray for the female leads. The time when we actually created good literary content with good smut and not just inserting dialogues like 'you are mine' , 'you are my Jaan and my Rooh, mai mar jaaunga tumhare bina' , at every other second line.
Again I mean no personal harm to anybody, these are just my impulsive thoughts. Please ignore if they sound to bizarre to you.
