Can you try to explain depression?

-CallMeGrey-

@sebaciefangirl6969
Maybe I can help? It’s been a couple years and you may still be confused. According to mayoclinic.org, “Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems.” In emotional terms, it’s a strong emotion. Depression can be felt in many different ways, and it can vary from person to person. Some may feel extremely low motivation for everything, while others may feel completely numb, or others extremely sad.

And another thing, you don’t need to have depression to be depressed. Depression is an emotion; you don’t need to have a disorder to feel a negative emotion.

Here's to surviving and getting through a long, hard day. Maybe you could use a nap or maybe you could use an ice-cream. Go ahead. You deserve it.
Here's to those sleepless nights and and those times when you constantly feel tired no matter what. One day, it will get better. Don't stop believing.
Here's to standing up for yourself and getting back up again. No battle is going to keep you down. No matter how hard it is, you just have to keep moving forward.
Here's to being broken, to the flaws, those scars and mental illness. It's hard and it's not a pretty path.
You are a soldier. You are a warrior. You are a survivor.
Though you have seen pain, remember there was once happiness and it can always be seen again. There is a light in every darkness and we wish everyone the best of luck on their journey, no matter what troubles they face.

Everyone travels along a path called life.
This path isn't easy. It goes up and down hills and mountains. Sometimes the path is rocky and sometimes it's flat. It has lots of twists and turns in it too.
Sometimes we even lose sight of the path and end up lost in the woods. That's ok. These things happen.
What's most important is that we don't give up and we find our path again. Sometimes we may need help to do this and that's ok too. You're not alone. Everyone's in this together. Everyone is only trying to follow their path and make it to the end.

Important Reminders!

          1. Look after yourself! There is only one of you, so make sure you look after yourself: whether that be physically, mentally or emotionally. You deserve to live a happy and healthy life.
          2. Look out for others! Sometimes offering a small helpful hand can make a huge impact on someone's day.
          3. If you have a problem or if you're feeling a little down, talk to someone! Confide in a close friend or a trusted adult. Talking it out is a great way to relieve the weight off of your shoulders.
          4. Feel free to message us! We are always happy to help.
          5. You are amazing no matter what anyone says and that includes that negative voice in your head.

Hope you all have a great day
