peter didn't expect someone on the rooftops this late. trying his best to get back to his plan of drinking coffee, having a smoke and hopefully get a good reason to go to bed for the night to get rest. a soft greeting was alk he managed as he went to the usual corner, sitting on the small wall that boardered the ledge. placing his coffee beside him while flipping through small field notes. pushing glasses back up each time he went for a sip of his warm drink. a surprisingly big frame for someone acting so recluse.

@chainsmoke ⟢﹒ “yes, a free spirit.” tethered to nothing and no one in particular, watching countless lives pass her by. not frozen solid but an outlier for sure. “don’t fret. pleasure to make your acquaintance, peter parker. i’m selene.. quite lovely indeed.” a fitting name. polite of him to offer—some customs slip her mind. exchanging names. knowing when to engage or walk away. offer eye contact. avoid it. he made things simple. “so far it has. the people are interesting and the culture is abundant. but, things truly flourish at night from what i’ve gathered.” there’s an urge.. peeking through the seams of her being, frantic to wiggle its way out and spill everything. odd. she can’t recall that happening before. “are the ones that give you a hard time interesting as well?”

" wow, a free spirit then? I know a lot of people who would kill for that freedom. most of us are sadly stuck somewhere. " peter wasn't really trapped there. this place just had his heart. it was where his family lived and his late friend loved this city. now he found it hard to leave without feeling like abandoning their memories and work. " oh, gosh! I've been awfully rude. I'm peter parker. it is lovely to meet another night owl. " his uncle would have smacked his head for taking this long to remember his manners. regardless of how tired he was and this constant sense that ate at him. " for what it's worth, I hope this place makes an impression on your journies. lot of interestin' folks here. " half admittedly he would watch from up here. normal people doing their usual routines. it passed the time when things were slow and calm. probably why he would bring work here too. a place to clear his head a bit.

@chainsmoke ⟢﹒ the people who rose with the night exuded a sort of ambience that she subconsciously reached for. tendril like chords, irresistible and impossible to ignore. they weren’t all identical but warranted her undivided attention. selene didn’t pry or dig, merely existing in the moment as it unraveled right before her very eyes. he was peculiar but in a sense that she couldn’t step away just yet. “the night is much nicer..” of course the embodiment of the night and all its inhabitants would agree. she reveled in this. “strange. how there can be a thing as.. too quiet.” something else worth noting. until then.. “a bit of both actually. i go wherever it looks most interesting so i’ve decided to stay here for a bit. see what it’s like before heading somewhere else.”
