It's definitely not easy, and I’m not sure if the way I see things will help you get any clearer... but here’s my take, for what it’s worth.
Whenever I try to write too fast⏤just to keep readers engaged⏤it almost always backfires. The result ends up feeling rushed, and when I go back and reread those chapters before continuing the story, I can usually tell. It just feels off, like something’s missing.
Over time, I’ve learned to write only when the inspiration is really there.
Which means:
◦ Sometimes readers have to wait quite a while between updates.
◦ And other times, the inspiration hits so hard that I’ll post 3 or 4 chapters at once⏤or even multiple chapters across different stories in the same burst.
Let’s not forget: this is not something you’re getting paid to do.
So honestly, I’d say wait until the desire to write comes back naturally⏤it always does, eventually.
Pushing it tends to lead to frustration.
I hope that helped a little, at least.
Take care of yourself!✨
