So, I did something kind of stupid.
After watching the Vampire Diaries I promised myself to never do love triangles again. But, after I heard that The Summer I Turned Pretty was becoming a TV show and that it was based on books, I started reading the trilogy before searching for the tropes or doing research since I thought I would've gotten spoilers. So, I bought the full trilogy, because why be careful and actually read the first book when you can just do stupid stuff? I found out it was a love triangle later and I was already debating closing the book before finding out, but mum didn't raise a quitter, so I finished it. I have suffered through the books and came to the conclusion that everyone needs therapy and they should all stay single for the sake of people in search of healthy relationships. All three of those characters were red flags. Neither were better than the others and I don't want to hear it.
But, now I am suffering through it all again because of the show. WHY ARE THERE IMPORTANT NEW CHARACTERS THAT CHANGE THE COURSE OF ACTION? THEY ADDED A COUSIN? AN AUNT? A BETTER TAYLOR (not that I'm complaining, I'm glad she's better. It's one of the few changes that I'll accept.)? A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TAYLOR AND STEVEN (they're so sweet, screw the Belly/Conrad/Jer drama and just show them to me)? WHAT IS GOING ON?
Anyway, I just needed a place to vent and nobody else I know watched the show or read the books, so they aren't in the mood to hear me complain (which is plain rude)
