Okay I may have lied because I kinda want to rewrite the whole book so it’ll definitely take longer than a week before I put it back up.

And another note I want to publish the book I have about Colette’s parents and I’m considering putting that one up before I republish Professions bc it may help me figure out what I wanna do lol.

I’m temporarily taking down “Professions” because it needs a lot of editing and a slight plot rework. Everything will be done by the end of the week so it will be reposted on Sunday- with a timeline that is hopefully easier to digest.

A quick thank you to all my readers for the votes on Professions!! I’m really thankful to you guys and I swear I didn’t forget about you! I’m currently working on chapters eight and nine and they should be out in the next day!

I know chapter eight should’ve been released- but I have been stretching myself thin between work and school. Now that schools up, I have some spare time on my hands and will be making up for all the lost time!

Heyy, I was curious how do you get your story out there and get views, I just started my first on here last month and I plan to keep writing but I want people to actually read it.

prettygirl_744

Okay, thank you so much that is all very helpful, I’m used to writing full story’s for fun and not sharing them so I definitely feel like I’ll be able to stick it out to a point where I get more readers. Thank you so much for the advice!!

@prettygirl_744 I'll be honest it took a lot of time and patience. My biggest piece of advice is not to get discouraged because at first, it might be a little hard to gain an audience. Second, try to be consistent with updates so that people don't forget about or lose interest in your story. When you notice that you're gaining traction try to release multiple chapters that progress or reveal the plot while you have that attention. Another is, to try to complete your book- when you don't already have a pre-established reader pool it's hard to get views on unfinished books. Most Wattpad readers prefer to read completed books so aim to complete anything you write. Commenting on other people's work and being supportive of other authors is another way to gain traction. Smaller authors, in my experience, are often very supportive of each other. Thank returning readers often and try to interact with readers by liking or responding to comments. For me, it took about a year or so to start gaining traction and I'm still not nearly as big as other authors- but these are the things I like to go by.

I think the Wattpad Council is actively trying to bring me to my demise because why did I do a mass editing session off ALL of my books (even four seasons) AND NONE OF IT SAVED???? This might be my breaking point, seriously. I spent a good six hours rereading and editing these stories and I saved them periodically and again when I finished- just for me to go back and read them again and none of the edits I made were there. So, if I suddenly disappear off the face of the earth you know why.

@Angelic_Maddness I was so devastated but I've come to terms with the fact I'll have to do it again lol

This is a random vent...Sometimes when I read comments on here I really lose hope for humanity because a lot of y'all are really vile. And for what? A few laughs or a couple of likes? I literally saw someone justify domestic violence in lesbian relationships by saying "It doesn't matter if they're both girls". And it's just twisted and insane. Also, I say this all the time in my books but I don't tolerate stuff like that and I am quick to delete a comment and mute an account. Because anyone can see those comments. So imagine a lesbian dv victim seeing comments like that or seeing comments of people laughing about something she experienced. Imagine going through something like that and having it chalked up to being dominant or somehow desirable. There's a major difference between being rough with your partner in bed and being aggressive towards them in your day-to-day life. The fact that some people have blurred that line so badly that they make fun of dv- is honestly alarming to me.

@Angelic_Maddness such a good perspective and I definitely agree

When I encounter situations like that, I respond similarly. I speak out and address the issue, as it’s important to engage with individuals who may not yet realize the immaturity and ignorance of their perspectives. By voicing our concerns and actively dealing with such behavior, we can help these individuals grow and eventually recognize the flaws in their thinking.
