Same reason why Jane has her name.

Swordmachine really liked the clothes V1 singed, he had gotten them from an uncorrupted corpse he’d found in a hollow during a mission.
next chapter is finally in production
V1 and V2’s ear implants are skull deep.
So, if they were to have all their flesh peeled off, they’d still be able to hear!
