Ok so I was watching this show called DC Doom Squad with my dad. Its about some unlikely people with some weird ability that band together to be heroes. in this series there is a character named Larry.
Larry is a pilot who inhibited a being of energy after an accident on his plane and got serverly burned. He has a wife and two young boys. He also has a secret. He has a best friend who he's in love with. They sneak out when his wife is away. After he gets serverly burned his wife leaves him and takes away his children because of how he looks. However his best friend stays and tries to be there for him but eventually he pushes him away so he leaves.
My analogy is Larry is Louis and his lover is Harry. The crash and burn means that Louis is afraid to be who he is cuz of what society makes of gays. His wife only cared about appearance so she left. Like most of Louis's 'girlfriends' only care about being with One Direction's Louis Tomlinson but Harry knows the real Louis but Louis pushed Harry away because of what society says he is. At the end of the series however, the character Larry realizes society doesn't decide who he is so he goes to find his old lover and they reunite.
