March 2022 reads:

          	1. To kill a kingdom by Alexandra Christo(⭐️⭐️⭐️)(A re-telling of the little mermaid with far more interesting protagonists than the original. The concept of the story was really nice although I found myself dropping in and out of the story multiple times. It wasn’t as compelling as the other stories I’ve read.)

          	2. A dangerous path by Erin Hunter(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)(The fifth book in the “Prophecies begin” instalment. It was very adventure-packed and I think, was a good way to close off Bluestar’s madness.)

          	3. The darkest hour by Erin Hunter(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)(The sixth and final book in the “Prophecies begin” instalment. I had many expectations for this book considering it was the finale. Most of them had been met as well as the book found ways to surprise me! There were many twists and turns — and overall, it was a really good read.)

Another week month for me since it took me AGES to finish the first book. So I decided to stick to finishing the first arc of Warrior cats instead of starting a massive standalone.

For the month of April, I have way too many books overdue on my TBR, so hopefully I’ll manage to read them?

Finished To Kill a kingdom 3 days ago and I was originally gonna read the last two HDM short stories to finally catch up but no, it seems like my plans are once again taking a turn as contact with an old friend made me want to finish the last two Warrior cats books from arc 1. I’ll see if I can finish both in the two weeks to come. (That’s plenty of time, honestly, but I procrastinate.)

Same I know that feeling of procrastination but was the book good?

February 2022 reads:

          1. The secret commonwealth by Philip Pullman(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)(despite being quite problematic to some — I quite enjoyed the novel. An excellent continuation to Lyra Silvertongue’s adventures.)

          2. Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)(A very good conclusion to our star-crossed lovers Roma and Juliette. The story was good and really gave my knowledge on politics(which is to say none at all) a run for its money.)

A very weak month for me, I know! But school’s been keeping me quite busy. I hope to read more this month, as I do already have some books planned to read.

But see the complicated thing is: how do you get out of a reading slump? Those two books — both very astonishing and good — left me into two consecutive slumps, I couldn’t even read anything without gravitating back to those two series! It was a very: “Whyyyyyy” moment for me.

I’ve finished Our violent ends(finally after 17 days!) and am now moving on to the next book: To kill a kingdom!

@liliumbythevalley I see it sounds interesting

@jdizzle500 Really was, absolutely recommend! It’s a re-telling of Romeo and Juliet, basically, but it takes places in 1927 Shanghai

I just got the box set for the Percy Jackson series because I heard great things about it!(and also the fact they’re turning it into a show on Disney+ and my reader instincts went: “Read the book before the adaptation”)

          Had anyone read it?

liliumbythevalley

@jdizzle500 Woah, i didn’t even realize there was a movie for it already, thank you for telling me! And no worries, that’s okay!
