To how to get out of guard performance for talent show: That would of never worked, because then I wouldn't be performing at all. I can't fake an injury. There are two "crippled" members of the guard right now.  One had thumb nerve surgey, and the other had her left knee dislocated DURING practice. I should know. I saw it.I just chose not to participate.

Step one: get some casting tape and/or crutches
          Step two: wrap arm/leg/body limb in tape
          Step three: pretend it's broken
          Results: The humanoid dragon does not participate in guard dance at talent show.
