i'm basing this off of my own phone for mobile and i am on IOS, so this might differ from yours, but i think it should be the same and not vary too much.
if you're on MOBILE, first click on the button that looks like a house on the bottom left of the screen. then, on the top right hand of the page, you will see a circle, and that is your profile. once you click on it, you will head to your profile. then, on the top right again you will see the settings button. click on it, and the very first tab should be "edit profile". from there, you will be able to edit your profile pic, your background image, display name, bio, location, etc.
if you're on WEB, like on a PC or a LAPTOP, you should see your profile name and picture on the top right of the webpage. click on it, and it will display several options. the first one should be "my profile". click on it, and it will bring you to your profile. next, there should be a button called "edit profile" with a settings symbol on around the middle right side of your page. click on it, and from there you can change your profile pic, background image, display name, and basically customize your profile just like you can on mobile. simply just click on any of the icons there and upload your images to your profile for your profile pic and background image and you're done :)
