I know I dont post much on here or update my book much, but I wanted to take a moment to address something I find very important.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. I follow an account on Instagram called the HappinessProject, and they made a post addressing the month too. While going through it I came to a realization that not many people always take into consideration the vast variation in different mental health cases. One of the warning signs provided for suicide was practicing self-harm.
So, while at times self-harm is done to take one's life, that is not always the case. Non-suicidal Self Injury (NSSI) is self-harm without the intent to end or take one's own life. Many people neglect to learn the differences, and group all occurrences of self-injury, or self-harm, as the same thing.
They are vastly different, and it is honestly unfair to those who engage in NSSI to be treated as suicidal people, though both cases should be addressed nonetheless.

If you've gotten this far, thank you for reading and please try to spread awareness for both Mental Health Awareness Month, and the differences between NSSI and self-injury with suicidal intent or ideation.
          	Again, Thank you for reading
