“You know, the biggest lie they teach you, is to never give up.”

          	“Why?”

“Well, once upon a time, there was a miner. He was youthful, handsome, and strong. One day, He chanced upon a piece of rock, and could see something gleaming through a crack in it. So he picked and axed in the dark mines, but the stone just wouldn’t give in. He spent days, months, years, centuries, even. Alas, the stone broke, the diamond was obtained. The meagre chunk barely fit in his palm. And in it, he saw an old haggard, worn, lifeless person staring back.”

“But, why didn’t anybody help him?”

“Because he wanted the diamond all for himself.”

“Didn’t he have work? A family to attend to? In this case, his horribleness and selfishness drove him to this. Which means that it kind of complements his tragic ending, see this wouldn’t—“

          	“Shhh….Just remember the story.”

S T O R Y T I M E

So today I woke up with a wild notion in my head. It was to complete the Statistics holiday homework. It was something that I put off, for majority of the summer break as I was indifferent toward the subject.

Anyhow, I embarked on a tough quest filled with traps and beasts, mostly in the form of drawing straight lines and getting ancestral sketch pens to work.

As I weaved my way through indecipherable passages after passages, I got the bright idea to check the criteria for which this project was to be graded on. My teacher being very benevolent, had added this document as a reminder to all of us that shabby work will not be accepted.

Upon skimming, I came to the disappointing realization that the project was to be printed, not handwritten. 2 pages of writing became a waste of manpower resource.

Depressed, I shed a few tears and vowed to never embark on such a quest ever again—unless it was the midnight before submission day.

Our summer vacations are over. It was the first week of our school. We've been informed that on 2nd week of july we'll have our 1st periodic test.
So, it's better to be prepared beforehand!

With an education system that’s centuries old, unforgiving teachers, and my insufferable procrastination paired with an impeccable sense of perfection, I shall stay up all night, with the moon being my only companion, to finish this heap of homework that has accumulated over the days I spent frolicking.
