If you plan to go to Japan, it's better to learn the language. Writing and Reading Kanji and Katakana included (maybe some Hiragana as well?). It's rare to meet Japanese people who know how to speak in English after all. Staying is Kyushu or somewhere in Hokkaido is recommended. The scenery there is wonderful plus the peaceful environment too.
