                cassian looks up from what he was reading to the man . it took him a moment to remember who exactly this was . it was that investigator reporter . what was his name again ? cassian couldn't remember , it's been awhile . `` uh , hey ! ive been doing alright . `` he gave a small nod , carefully shutting the book for now . `` . . . and you ? how have you been ? did you ever get the information you were looking for that bank report ? `` he was just curious not trying to be too snoopy

            ` ` .. huh . ` ` she ' d step outside and crouch dow. ` ` those noses always look so funny . ` `

               `` it's the detective's ! said i could watch over her while he went to check something out . ``

            she raised a brow before dramatically sighing . ` ` alright , scoot over . ` ` she would crawl into the bed beside him , scooping him up close to her side , just like she used to .

            primrose didn ' t even get a chance to answer before she was hurling into the motel toilet again . she had been found curled up , skin pale and sticking with sweat. her curls damp against her face . she heaved as she listened to his steps.

            her face softened as she walked over and slowly took his face into his hand . ` ` of course not , cas .. i just want to keep it that way , okay ? ` ` she kissed his forehead gently . ` ` we ' ll be fine . ` `

            primrose slowed her pacing . ` ` i might need you to lay low for a bit . i ' ll deal with the scene stuff . ` ` she glanced his way . ` ` and we ' re gonna hide the plans up in the vent panel just to be sure . ` `

            inside seemed like paperwork , but on the front page had a familiar college logo . it was collage application . primrose didn ' t look up from the food she was cooking as she adjusted the head on the countertop stove .

                interest peeked , cass went to where she said the envelope was by the door . grabbing the envelope , he opens it up .

            primrose frowned . she didn ' t know how to help him when his meltdowns got like this . so all she did was take a deep breathe and plop herself onto the ground criss crossed .

               he paused as if considering that question . why was he this upset ? something felt off , and it made him feel anxious . but he was too young to really understand these overwhelming emotions , so his first instinct was to get upset . `` i . . . I don't know ! I just want mom ! ``
