fun fact: dame des morts was originally gonna be a platonic batfam fic in which 23 year old genevieve babin was the product of a one night stand between bruce wayne and poetry writer ariette babin. ariette eventually flees gotham when she realizes she's pregnant and genevieve is raised in france. she returns to become the medical examiner and bruce kinda realizes that's his kid???? but she wants nothing to do with him or damian, much less dick, jason, tim or even duke or cass. genevieve was supposed to have an even more solitary personality. she doesn't work well with others because of how blunt she is and comes across to other as rude. it was supposed to be platonic yan batfam going through the motions of trying to gain the familiar affection of genevieve, who wants nothing to do with them and even less with their vigilante counterparts.
(and yes, damian reacts very badly when he's first told because he has a biological sister?! and she was never raised like the wayne he is? injustice and must be rectified immediately. bruce was going to be extremely dejected by her rejection and seek out the other batfam members for help.)
