happy black history month! remember, this is the perfect time to start using underused poc faceclaims and start creating diverse characters, especially if you've never done it before!! make sure you're doing proper research, which means doing more than the bare minimum, read people's real experiences and remember that people's lifestyles can affect the way their mental or physical illness affects *them.* things like race, sexuality, class, money and education can all be factors that play into whether or not somebody can get the correct treatment for their illnesses. also remember these things don't always make them weak or helpless, and may in fact be the opposite. people with the same issues, don't look and act exactly alike. everybody processes things differently, as do their bodies.
futhermore, i'm not the toxic one here if i have to be the one that calls you out on your incorrect portrayal of poc and diverse characters. if you feel offended by my post then you're the audience that needs to listen the most. the bias that happens between white men, white women, poc men and poc women happens on various levels and it's honestly disgusting. why is a white man being babied and romanticized for his mental illness, whereas a poc woman(or even a white woman) gets mocked and teased for it? outright ridiculous and blatantly WHITE PRIVILEGE.
do. your. research.
