            She lets his words sit between them.
            “It depends on who’s telling.”
            Interesting./Very interesting. /Her eyes narrow slightly. She watches him with a knowing smile. “ you’re not pure. Nor evil.” Her head tilts. “That sounds like an answer from someone who knows exactly how differently people can see him.” She sets her glass down and takes a small step toward him.“You know, most men would have given me something easier… like  I’m a good man.’” She gives him an innocent smile. “Or ‘I’m misunderstood.’ Something suitably boring.” She laughs lightly “but you’ve got me intrigued.. please sit, have a drink with me. I’d love to know all these /stories/ about you and maybe just maybe I can tell you what I see”

            gabriel’s eyes settle on her, his expression unreadable for a moment as he considers the question. he doesn’t answer immediately, letting the silence linger between them before finally tilting his head slightly. ‘pure or evil?’ the words leave his mouth quietly, almost as though he’s testing the question himself. his gaze remains fixed on her. ‘that’s a pretty simple way of looking at things.’ a pause. ‘i’ve done things i’m not proud of. i’ve done things i’d do again.’ his eyes narrow slightly, his voice remaining calm. ‘so if you’re asking whether i’m pure… no.’ he takes a slow breath. ‘but evil?’ he studies her for another moment. ‘that depends on who’s telling the

            gabriel looked at him in awe for a few seconds. slowly, he sighed through his nose and rolled his eyes.
            
            ‘ wow. ’ he muttered along those words softly and being completely calm, giving dean that long, unimpressed stare like he’s already heard enough. gabriel waited until dean would reply in the meantime of his special dean—tantrum.
