My name is Elizabeth Karnavar, and I was born in Brooklyn, New York.

I have two older brothers, making me the youngest child, and also the only girl.

I am also a single mother to three wonderful children, two girls and a boy; ages 23, 17 and 16.

The inspiration behind writing my book Dangerous Arrangements started out as a cathartic journal for myself that evolved into a burden of love for others.

On November 7th, 2009, I received a phone call that would bring me to my knees and subsequently force me to deal with my painful past.

My Father was strangled to death during a supposed robbery at our family home in Kerala, India.

Devastated by the news of his murder, I set out to find out what truly transpired that night, and in the process was forced to confront my complicated past that ultimately led me and my family up to that fateful night.

Inundated with pain from a life abounding with sexual, physical and emotional abuse, attempted suicides, teenage pregnancy, an arranged marriage, drug addictions, illicit affairs, depression, betrayals, and dark family secrets; I was now left with the challenge of living a "normal" life.

From 2009 to 2017, I went through a series of intense emotional ups and downs that eventually led me to a path of healing and recovery, freeing me from the strongholds of my past.

I received the revelation of writing this book to enable women, both young and old, single, divorced or married, to help empower them to overcome similar struggles.

I chose to give the full proceeds of my book to the A21 Campaign because of the incredibly brave work they do by going into all parts of the world to rescue and rehabilitate the victims of sexually exploited women and children.

Partaking in the opportunity to play a small part of rescuing and healing the broken lives of countless victims all over the world has helped ignite my passions and grant me resolutions for my own life.
