I think that people who read are quite strong.

I mean, really read. Those who envelop themselves in a fictional world, with people they've never met but they know them, they know their minds as well as the people know themselves, and they love them just as much. Reading is sometimes described as an escape, and it is, but it is also a dangerous thing. For readers can have their hearts broken a million times, will shed tears for something that does not even exist. They love people that they have never even seen.

I think readers are kind and strong - they allow themselves to be ripped apart, again and again. They give away their hearts like coins, wearing them on the pages, and when the last page is turned, their heart breaks. And yet they pick it up and put it back together just in time for the next book.

We're fearless, us readers. Like lovers. We're not afraid, we are excited. Excited for the adventure, ready to be hurt by the ending. But we are wise, because we know. We know that the memories, the adventure, the happiness and sadness and laughter and years are worth the heartbreak because hearts can be fixed. We know. And we are ready to risk our hearts.
