Born in New York, of Cuban descent, Daniel Aceituna was raised in Miami Florida, where he studied Electrical Engineering. After a strange series of events, which included reading a lot of science fiction, watching a lot of Monty Python, and boarding a cruise ship full of Star Trek actors, he met his future wife while docked in the Bahamas and ended up in North Dakota. There, he received a Ph.D. in Software Engineering and traveled around the world presenting twenty peer-reviewed research papers. One day he noticed that none of his papers had surreal characters running around like chickens with their heads cut off, so he decided to fix that by writing Flash Fiction instead.
