I am so curious to know what people are expecting/wanting from “the reunion”? Like I know exactly how it’s gonna go but nothing makes me more excited than wondering what people expect.
(Asking for no reason in particular other than writing a certain chapter being on my to do list for the weekend )

@HeartStrings_Wanna honestly that’s such a cute theory because one of my favourite things about them is how opposite they are, like it’s Willas’ religion that has all the songs and hymns but he can’t sing so refuses to, while Edda who’s religion is just *tree* loves singing (or used to pre-Twins). There’s gonna be quite a few lil moments of them reconnecting that I’ve cooked up and I’m definitely not saying that songs are not gonna be a part of it ;)

@dinosaureatsman I JUST HAD A CRAZY IDEA. Okay sometimes I like to imagine everything and anything that could happen because I'm just so invested in this book!! But what if when Willas tries to reconnect with Edda, he sings I WOULD SCREAM, I just feel like singing and songs has such a significant representation in this book. Anyways those are my thoughts but you're the writer and I will love anything u write!!

@HeartStrings_Wanna yeah I’m not gonna lie I’m striving for something as scream-worthy as that scene in HTTYD (that scene CHANGED me as a 14yr old watching it in cinema lmao) so though I know exactly what I want them to do/say, I keep going back to that line and the desire of writing something as heart wrenching. I hope I can do everyone’s expectations justice!

@dinosaureatsman I don't think the North will take kindly to the daenarys and her dragons at all. I think that eddmina won't want to work with her because she knows what Daenrys wants and Edda has lost so many people to fight and keep the north free.

@dinosaureatsman also I feel like we are one or two chapters away from Edd and Willa’s reunion- makes me want to cry honestly. He will go insane with Lyarra and Edd with Uther. They will be desperate for one another but two hurt to approach it. However I do hope they get some time as a family together. Also Margery as always will be the force to truly reunite them.

Prepared because as least your warning us that there's a cliff and we might have to wait awhile for the next one. I've always rathered Honest writers who care and write well than ones who rush and just say "oh well that would do"

Apologies for radio silence and just completely disappearing! Hope you’re all okay! I’ve just come home from a lovely and very much needed holiday/vacation/week in the sun with a lot of mojitos, and I’m about to go back to work during what is always our busiest time. I’m also juggling a couple of other real-world projects and non-fanfic writing jobs that are stealing my focus atm. I’m going to try my hardest to get a chapter out asap because I’m so desperate to move onto the next section of Only a Northern Song (I have SO many ideas and twists planned) so please bare with me. I’m sorry for the delay but I hope you’ll all find it worth it when the chapters are out. In the meantime I’d encourage you to reread older chapters (there’s actually a surprising amount of foreshadowing in them that even I forget about!) Big Love To You All!!!

Currently thinking about how the original plan for only a northern song had Willas and Edda sitting the war out in Highgarden and their first kid was a daughter called Chiarra. 18yr old me who had just started writing that fic had no idea what was going on lmao
