Writing and generating fictional lands are a fun outlet. You may not like every story or every character or what have you, but for me it's a way to leave reality and create my own fictional land and characters. 

Books are all about voicing a fictional land where what you dream happens - real life doesn't happen like it does in the books. Not every story is a winner, but every story has a meaning.
