My writing blog is at ... https://dadadadiox.blogspot.com/
My blog is mostly me rambling about my writing process. I also share information about new books and upcoming projects. I don't post often, but it's there when I need it.
In 2013, I created my first fictional character, a troubled teenager, Joe Theroux. I placed him in the 1970's. Why? Because I know the seventies. He lived in Providence. Why? Because I know Rhode Island. Write what you know.
Joe's first story was a simple tale of a good kid being bullied. Write what you know. After a traumatic childhood tragedy, his world changes. First, he lashes out against the bullies, then he fights all forms of authority. Write what you know. Then I gave Joe a guitar, and I just kept writing. Write what you're interested in.
That's when I titled Joe's tale, All The Young Punks. Giving Joe a garage band changed everything for me as a hobby writer. The possibilities seemed endless. Twelve years later. I'm still writing. Now I just write what the fuck I want.
In 2025, I began a rewrite of the 132 punk chapters previously published elsewhere. I repackaged Joe's musical, romantic, and world journey into books. Four currently live on Wattpad. Number five is coming soon. More will follow. My punk opus is my never-ending story.
My detective writing also lives here. Watching The Detectives is my first foray into crime. Sunset '77 is the sequel to WTD. My detective work bears no resemblance to my punk style. ATYP is loquacious, with side-stories and tangents within the larger tale. My detective work is concise and on point. Crime writing should be direct without distracting diversions. After punks surpassed a million words, long ago, I needed to prove I could keep it tight.
Writing is my hobby, not a vocation. I joke that fiction writing is a form of mental illness as we lose ourselves in a world created in our minds from thin air. I escape by creating. Others escape through reading.
