Drink Deep was an Ambassador's Pick, 2nd round. The fun part was, at first, the only story on those that passed the 2nd list was When This World Ends (written, being posted today, as well), so this is the story I worked on the least out of the 3, for their second half. I fear it shows, but that's always the fear of a perfectionist of any sort, right?
          	
          	But it's finished, for now. If I choose to write a bigger story out of it, there's enough meat to it, to do more, for example, there's a question to answer, in the last chapter.

Well, while Between Catholics and Voodoo Queens did not make it to 3rd round for ONC, it is finished by the deadline, and under 40K at somewhere under 22,531 words.
          
          It may not have passed 2nd round, but someone who means much more to me was hooked: my husband, my go-to editor, and not a fan of the romance genre. (It is a fantasy with a bit of romance, but it's not the central theme by a long shot.)
          
          If I ever expand it, it would be to follow the secondary characters around more, and then this part of the story would be main plot.  It's doable, but it stands fairly solid for a novella, without a true need to expand. I can't always say that for the rest of my stories.

So, Until This World Ends has made the 2nd round ONC, and I'm close to finishing the 0 draft. 
          
          I've got Between Catholics & Voodoo Queens finished (not up yet).
          Constance Penrose and Drink Deep are both published up to 9K, but now I've got to decide how hard I'm going to push to get their 0 draft done. Don't know.
          
          I'm not upset that 3 didn't place, but I'm not yet excited that 1 did. I am drained because this head cold is a lingering type, and mentally, I'm just like...why am I writing?
          
          I'll get over it. I always do, but man, just not enthusiastic today.

All 4 of these made the 2K round. I believe they are being lenient this year.

            They're so very different, that I'm not sure if I have a favorite, yet. 
            One is Victorian (CP), one is home/history(BC&VQ.  The other two are roughly medieval fantasy realms, and out of those 2, I like UTWEs more than DD, but part of that is that UTWE was an idea I had for almost a year that solidified in time for ONC.
