he  stared  at  her  hand  for  a  moment  before  nodding  and  taking  it .     he  stood  up ,   careful  not  to  accidentally  pull  her  down  with  him ,   and  smiled .        “ thank  you ,   really . ”

            she watched him carefully, her eyes falling to the male’s hand once it was back out in front of him. once she didn’t see blood, she relaxed slightly, chuckling softly at his words. “trust me, i get it. do you want some help up?” she held her hand out to him, just in case he wanted to take it. 

frankie  huffed  out  a  short  laugh ,   nodding .     he  reached  a  hand  up  to  where  he  had  hit  himself ,   pressing  down  gently ,   before  lowering  it  to  eye  level .     no  blood .        “ yeah ,   i’m  sure .     believe  it  or  not ,   i’ve  been  through   / way /   worse . ”

            kara’s brow raised slightly as she glanced over at the other woman, her eyes soon falling to what the woman held in her hands. “sounds like you’re having a rough day… what’s going on?” she turned so she was facing the other woman a little more before leaning forward only slightly to see what the other was referring to. “honestly, i can’t say i’m shocked.”

   some villain guy had a paint thing going on and i called it stupid and he was  NOT  happy.  i think he was upset that i stopped the crime of one of his friends a few years back.  these guys really hold onto grudges!  it's tiring.

            well, i’d say it was a fancy suit before it got covered in paint. which, hopefully all that doesn’t stain it, because it is quite a nice suit. …wait how did you get caught in a paintball fight?

   i wouldn't know how to answer the questions,  it's complicated.  it's a fancy suit though ain't it?  i stole it.  i mean—  i actually—  well i—  nah,  i stole it.  but it's fancy!  then i got caught in a paintball fight thing,  it was weird.

            kara laughed, shaking her head fondly as she watched the archer and her daughter, watching as the little girl kept her hold on the male’s finger. “she is the daughter of a super soldier so i guess the strength should be expected, huh?” she joked, tilting her head slightly to look at the pair better. “here, i’ll try and loosen her grip so you can get your hand back,” she chuckled, reaching over and gently grabbing the girl’s hand.

            kara’s face brightened up at that nickname. even if she didn’t have her bright blue hair anymore, she still loved hearing it. maybe she should go back to blue for a while… that was going to be something she’d have to contemplate. “i really appreciate this, red. i haven’t really gotten time to myself in so long, so even this quick trip to the grocery store is something i’m so thankful for,” she said with a small smile. as much as she loved her daughter, it was rough sometimes, so she just needed a short trip to have some time by herself. “my phone will be in my hand the entire time. if anything happens, no matter how small, just call me, okay?”

It was an honour to be trusted that much, that's for sure. In the back of her mind, Natalia registered the sentiment. But she couldn't help the fact 90% of her thoughts were about keeping the little one safe while her mother is gone. A tad dramatic, she would blame Yelena's influence here, since nothing around them was life threatening to the baby... unless some of these new silly cartoons, what happened to the good old ones, such as Pink Panther and Scooby-Doo? Ugh, nevermind. "Sure, yeah -- it'll be fine. I'll give you a call if something comes up. See you soon, Blue," even if Kara no longer wore her hair dyed that colour, the nickname for sure stuck.

            kara had no doubts that the redhead would do just fine with aspen. in fact, natasha was probably one of the people kara trusted aspen with the most. she knew the other wouldn’t let anything happen to the baby. “my phone will be right in my pocket the entire time i’m gone, i promise,” kara smiled before looking down at aspen, “she seems to be sleepy, so she probably won’t give you any issues.” at least she hoped the little one wouldn’t cause any issues. only time would tell, she presumed.
