Some of you may have read my historical novel The Blue Hour which was shortlisted for the Wattys2024. Since then it’s been edited twice. I cut 30.000 words, gave it the new title Before He Was Red, a beautiful new cover made by the incredible Jo Walker (https://www.jowalker.com) - and BAM it’s ready for publication this autumn. The story will be up here on Wattpad for a limited time only (since it’s also part of a competition), so if you haven’t read it, this is your chance to grab it while it’s here. I’d love to invite you to become ARC readers which means getting early access and helping me with your feedback before the book officially launches. If you’d like to join the ARC team, just leave a comment below! Thank you so much for your support on this journey! @DennisRoyer @EvelynHail @donnaf1828 @EmilieMorgans @moonraess

THE ESCAPE

Ana thought her life was perfect, like every girl dreamed of.
          A loving family.
          A stable job.
          Peace... safety... freedom.
But what she didn't know was that a demon was waiting in the shadows.
          Watching.
          Waiting.
          Wanting.
Waiting for the perfect moment to take back what he believed was his.

"Did you really believe I wouldn't find you? You vanished, but my obsession? It only grew. Stronger. Darker. Deadlier."

          ANA (backing away, breath trembling):
          "You're insane. This isn't love-this is possession!"

"Call it whatever you want, but your soul? It was stitched to mine LONG BEFORE YOU WERE EVEN BORN .

Now, the past which was buried is clawing its way back.

          The truth?

          She was never free.

          Just... on borrowed time.
          What will she do?
Can she escape his twisted love ?

And when Ana discovers the truth behind her past-
the lies, the blood, the betrayal-
          will she break into pieces?
Or will she rise stronger than ever before?

Read The Escape — a dark, slow-burn thriller where bloodlines haunt, love is lethal, and freedom comes at a deadly price.

The blue hour - I recall reading this several years back but perhaps a different title and it was not yet complete. It was beautifully written then, I look forward to rereading it and seeing how it ends.♥️

@MoodyMooseMouse Hi MoodyMoosseMouse, I’m so happy to hear from you! Yes, The Blue Hour is indeed a quite heavily revised version of the book you read, The Last Sultan - and, most importantly, it now has an ending :-). Unfortunately though, the version here is not the final one. The manuscript has since been edited, but because I submitted it to the Watty 2024, I’m not allowed to update. Anyway, I’m in the querying process now, a slow, painful process. Hope you are well!
