“ Novalee ! “ Steve yelled arms outstretched as he saw her walk past the ice cream parlour . Usually he’d just stay silent due to serving customers but today there seemed to be a lack of people , which gave him a chance to talk to her “ before you do or say anything try this and tell me what you think “ he was now standing in front of her and in his hand was a small tub of ice cream which was held out in her direction .

            His smile grew as he clapped his hands a laugh falling from his lips “ holy shit , you actually like it ?! Like / actually / think it’s good , because I’ve been mixing up ice cream combinations all day and Robin said they were shit “ he spoke as he gestured towards the counter where various other small tub sat presumably mixed with different flavours of ice cream “ this one she hated most , it’s butterscotch and pistachio which I didn’t think sounded or tasted offensive but to her it apparently did . “

            it was rare - and odd - when novalee had the day all to herself , and even if she found it just a bit lonely , she still appreciated the peace . hearing a familiar voice that had became such a comfort to her , she smiled and stopped what she was doing to do him a favor . trying the ice cream , her eyes widened slightly . " this is delicious ! "
